VG Insights has been released as a free video game market reserch platform to support indie developers and publishers with market data.
Video Game Insights aims to be a complementary source of analysis to sites like Steamspy, providing insights from a different, more tailored angle.
The platform has included 3 services to its early access:
- Game analytics - Customised and interactive analysis of the Steam games, releases, pricing, sales estimates and more
- Games database - List of Steam games, release information, pricing and other data with filters and order options
- Publisher database - List of all publishers on Steam - how many games they have published and what their focus is
VG Insights is using Steam and IGDB data as well as proprietary datasets. The platform is available for free in an effort to help indie developers make better informed decisions regarding game production.
