Today we will speak about the microphone feature that is used in The Voidness. The enemies will be able to hear you from your microphone if you breath heavily, however this will be used in a different way then the previous titles such as The Backrooms 1998 and Trenches.

Scan the environment to see. Try and escape The Voidness, but you are not alone...

The Voidness is a SCI-FI psychological horror game where it takes place in the void filled with just gloom and darkness, with your only ability to see is by scanning the map with your range finder device. Roam freely, scan, mark, explore and try unravel the story - however you are not alone. Something is also lurking with you in the void.

Today we will speak about the microphone feature that is used in The Voidness. The enemies will be able to hear you from your microphone if you breath heavily, however this will be used in a different way then the previous titles such as The Backrooms 1998 and Trenches.

Enemies are improved upon on in The Voidness, and they can hear and sense you if you are only in their line of sight or if you walk on debris, glass or walk over objects that can make noise - you can also attract them using other ways; like whistling or throwing objects to grab their attention. The microphone feature will only activate when the enemies are near and you are in hiding. That means, when you are hiding - you need to stay as silent as possible, otherwise they will instantly get to you. Hiding places are cramped and tight so it's important that you stay as quiet as possible till the enemies pass.

That being said the microphone feature won't be available for the whole game progression unlike the previous titles, but rather only when the enemies are near or if you are in hiding (and they are lingering nearby). This is also optional and can be turned off the settings. The microphone feature adds a little bit more of a challenge for those looking for more immersion experience when using their microphone.



So .. just make sure to not breath heavily while hiding or else they will notice you and take you with them into unknown. Will you be stepping into the void?
