It’s time to shed more light on the enigmatic Taint System we wrote about in our previous post :). Our main goal is to encourage role playing. We achieve it by granting character Taints, based on your choices. Every Taint is in fact a personality trait and unlock a mechanics specifically designed to encourage certain actions. For example: Being an alcoholic will reward you for getting drunk and penalize you every time you become sober. This, not a mindless XP grinding, will be the main source of your character’s strength. Surviving will depend on you learning how to harness that.
