The news of this week are about jobs (please, again, forgive us about any grammar errors, English is not our first language). Your Lings will need jobs to evolve and help to build a thriving village. Each Ling can have up to 5 different jobs as a career, but only one can be active at a time. To evolve, they will have to work in their current job. In example, the Ling "John" has three jobs: Miner, Builder and Watchman (names are subject to change). You can select which job it can be active, anytime. Using the active job will make it evolve.
Jobs has level and experience to evolve. Each progress of the job will make it level up and this can make the Ling work faster, has more power, etc, it depends on each job. Or even unlock new itens for crafting. There are many options. Also, each job requires either a tool or a workbench of some kind (ok, sometimes you will need both).
For this week, we will talk about the Builder job. Builders are the ones for building new structures and collecting ground materials. It is the starting job of every Ling. They can build houses, shops, libraries and warehouses (only Farmers can build plantations). There are only four types of buildings, but each one have many options and you can make it the way you want regarding furniture and profession. In example, you can have a weapon shop or a food shop for travellers and traders that come to your village. But let's save this for another article :)
And as described above, your will see details of the steps of building a new house (or shop, or whatever). You will see them getting every item needed, taking to the building and them working. At this moment, there are many details while building, but not yet some good effects on the structure itself.
I hope you enjoy this small information about jobs. Each week we will reveal more information about the game and more details (we are really excited to reveal more). Next week we will start with some nice GIF pictures, so you will start to see this in action. We have a nice prototype already and, let's see how we will be able to share this with you. Please, give us your feedback, our game will have a strong focus in our community.
