Hello again, everyone! We're back one last time for our official release! Starting at 7pm on 4/19/2022, you can find our completed game page at Spellingbee.itch.io.
This week, we focussed mainly on polish and presentation in the form of final bug fixes and tweaks, new cutscenes, new music, and new background artwork.
There are now three cutscenes in the game (viewable upon starting, completing level 4, and completing level 8, respectively). We added these to help build out the paw-some narrative and immerse the player.
In each level, you'll now find new, unique pieces of cat art and banners that give each area a different flavor. We also added in four new songs (including three original works from our terrific composers), and now have different songs playing in each level to switch it up. Both of these changes were made to increase the sense of progression and variety from completing levels.
