IG, a real WoP-Fan got some first impressions of the internal World of Padman standalone release. Check out his comment!
Honestly, I really didn't want to tear myself away from my oppo's to write this, but I had to, or else get my hat :(, because it's happened(!) Yes, at long last the engine and those essential files necessary for the final map customisations have been delivered, and already things are beginning to look awesome. The mapping is pure genius, the code appears robust, and the game play rocks like Naval Gunfire Support on steroids; it's a fantastic start(!)
The move from Mod to Standalone is definitely creating a lot of excitement as the team works ;) to create an increasingly richly textured and more colourful game, pushing the edge of what's possible, and slowly (you know that bit ;) ) but surely, step by step, they are valiantly blurring that gap between fantasy and reality, and so making it possible for you to de-accelerate your life with WoP whenever you get a moment from fighting floating and moving elsewhere.
Now, the unmistakable eerie squeak of those pesky killer ducks and the haunting omnipresence of those menacing floater bots leaves one imagining they are part of the drama and suspense of a Hitchcock style movie, where long periods of calm can be suddenly broken by moments of sheer panic. Those Nozzer's who doubt would do well to remember to run without looking back.
Yes, the 1st WoP Standalone looks set to deliver a mixture of the funny and the serious, and so it ought to appeal to those seeking either. So, full steam ahead number one.
That pool is so realistic. Truly and utterly Impressive.
i really cant wait for this =D
