Here is the latest in our new weekly Overgrowth alpha format! David himself took some time to illustrate the traditional changelog in video form.
Don't forget that you can help support us, try out our weekly alphas (such as the one in the video), and chat with other preorderers in the Secret Preorder Forum by preordering Overgrowth.
Be sure to watch it in HD!
The features highlighted in the above video are as follows (among some extra ones thrown in for good measure):
- Color tint (xml and in-game color picker) with overbright
- Active block is working again (tap r-click)
- Camera control in character script
- Limits on camera rotation
- Scriptable camera roll and shake
- Smooth camera distance interpolation
- Export and import camera animation from Blender
- DDS conversion tool for smoother deployment
- "Remove unused actions" blender script
Thanks as always for all the support! See you guys in IRC and the forums.
Also, feel free to support us by preordering Overgrowth!

Realtime in-engine hue-saturation-brightness controls for game objects? That's... awesome beyond words. Really, I'm stunned.
very very cool. Great update
easiest engine.
Better than UDK.
Im really surprised how much progress you guys make every week. shows how hard at work you are :]
Stunning work. Apart from the obvious quality of the features I like your sky. We try to achieve a great looking sky in our mod too but the realisation is quite hard in Sandbox 2, especially clouds are a problem.
Awesome work guys When you're done this engine going to rock! (wait a min... it already does!)
Wish I wasn't broke.
I always laugh at your alpha videos, I honestly think they're awesome.
I completely agreee I would love to play the alphas!
The color tint looks like an great addition.
If you guys dont release this engine for indie community (not free afcourse, but affordable to indie) that would be a dissaster.
From videos anyone can totaly tell that this is engine is even twice easier to use as Unity.
Pleeeease release a demo for the people that are broke :).. it doesn't have to be as awesome as the preorder version, but anything to help me play out this masterpiece
