There has been some discussion over the loading screens for the game. This is what we have so far.

There are plenty of things still needed for example we could use a game logo on here for a start, but it's coming along nicely with lots of people taking part in the discussion so please login to the forums and join in.

Dave "c-thru" has been busy working on 3D models for the tunnels. As usual his work is top quality.

This is looking really cool, but is the old Hardwar still under copyright? Because if it is, they could make you stop if you don't have special permission. I'm sure you've answered this question before, but I haven't seen it.

Well firstly there's a couple of reasons you don't have to worry about that.

1 - We don't know who owns the copyright so that'd be great if they sued us, then we'd know :)
2 - Ciaran the former CEO of Software Refinery and 1 of 2 people that actually has the code that I know of fully supports our efforts.
3 - We are trying not to use any art from the original game and the source code is completely my own work so even if someone did get the copyright there is nothing they can sue us over because it's not their work.

The only threat is over the fact that we're using "derivative work", in other words stuff like the fact we're doing a flying game on Titan and giving it the same name, however I think we have too much stuff that is different that it would be impossible to win against us if anyone did try to sue us for derivative work.

To sum up. There really isn't anything to worry about when it comes to that side of things. We can even get away with calling our remake "hardwar" because the trademark has expired.

Hey, I'm in the beginning stages of writing a (possibly) serial comic series based on Hardwar, and what you said about the trademark brightened my day. Now, do you know if this also applies to character names, for example: Psycho Bob, Syd, Klamp-G, and Lazarus?
