JARED FOSTER: MISSION COMMANDER
BIOGRAPHY :
Foster served in the US Air Force as an elite SERE Instructor (Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape). He is an expert in the art of surviving in the most remote and hostile environments. During his outstanding career he demonstrated natural leadership abilities and was known for his boundless sense of duty. In 2078, the Octal Corporation approached Foster to join the Io-1 training program as Mission Commander. He perfected his skills in the fields of aerospace and planetology and eventually became the first man to set foot on Io. Foster is seen as an inspirational and charismatic leader by his team.
DYNAMICAL LIGHTNING MANAGEMENT
The EVA space suit has its own lights directly attached to the model's rig. We are using two volumetric light cones on each side of the helmet. They are particularly important because they will allow the exploration of dark rooms in the event of electricity blackouts.
We are also using real time point lights close to the space suit monitoring screens in order to simulate their emmissive light. The character would otherwise be too difficult to see in a very dark atmosphere. In the next release, we plan to add dynamic information on the character's screens with the decal shader.
