David has been using AngelScript to tie the Phoenix Engine technologies together in a tidy framework which will lead to the birth of Overgrowth gameplay. Right now the scripting system can call on animation files based on real-time context and those animations can instantly surrender to the physics system to create realistic ragdoll effects. Without further ado, here's a demonstration of our initial scripting and animation technology.
Be sure to watch it in HD!
Making custom scripts and animations is simple!
While the idea of making custom animations and scripts may seem daunting, the Phoenix Engine makes it really easy. In addition to Silverfish's awesome tutorial, I've already seen a fan-made jumping animation along with a dancing Whale Man in SPF. The beard is in imminent danger.
Feel free to ask questions about scripting in the comments. This will help us figure out what to address in future videos and blog posts.

'He's been possessed by the devil', yeah... it looked like a demon rabbit.
Holly **** that's insane! So cool, now anyone can code!
Completely awesome.
Excellent work... makes animating and scripting a simplified act of workflow rather than a disjointed task for many operators.

(Rest in pieces) And yeah guys, well done on simplifying one of the tasks that most people find inaccessible! - I am still really impressed with all your work, and just continuously impressed with the way you handle the PR!

Hey some day when I have my own company, and start making my own games, I want to rent this engine. It looks perfect for some of my ideas...of course by that time, it will probably be old, but for now, this looks like my best bet!...Do you guys do that?...rent out the engine for other games to use?...
Great vid and awesome tools.
Must play around with this tomrow and see what I can come up with.
I notice that the character slowly shifts to the right if I fast forward?
