The Ignited Steel launch is coming up and although we wont confirm a release date (but really really soon) we are here to talk about the game’s development.
YokaiCade’s team has made great progress both with the narrative as well as the gameplay. In its current state, Ignited Steel has a completely developed campaign even with its final bosses!
One of the latest features that YokaiCade introduced on the game is the camera rotation which allows you to guide yourself through the battle and observe from every angle how your mechas destroy the enemy units. This was something we created after receiving feedback from people close to us who had played the game as well as the fast forward buttons for enemy turns.
We have improved the playstyle of the game, adding a big amount of different kinds of weapons that combined with the overheating mechanic give variability and replayability to the game, offering the player a fresh experience every time.
In Ignited Steel you will find different types of weapons such as ranged, melee, weapons you can use to move around the map and weapons that knockback your enemies and leave them defenseless.
Combining this with the overheat mechanic, Ignited Steel offers the player versatility for their combat style. With the overheat mechanic we will deal more damage to our enemies but we will be more vulnerable so we need to be careful on which strategy we choose.
The battlefield will play a key role in the gameplay. The climatic conditions will affect the rate at which our mechas will heat up. At this time, we have 3 different battlefields, cold, warm and neutral.
