Chaos Ride, the fourth title from sc0tt games, has been announced for iOS and Android.

Chaos Ride is a futuristic arcade racing game, which throws out a lot of the common conventions of the genre. Braking, drifting, and cornering are all irrelevant here - the game is entirely about launching your vehicle around the tracks at insane speeds.

You play by driving a glowing hover-cycle through a neon city in the future, along a tubular-shaped track. By shifting your weight around the track through careful positioning, you can build momentum and gain speed (for example, downhill gradients will cause you to accelerate). This is easier said than done, with five combatants all attempting the same thing.

At a top speed of 600mph, this is also the fastest racing game ever made. Yet it runs at a solid 30 frames per second on medium-spec mobile devices, while pushing visual quality beyond the expectations of most mobile games.

It is intended that Chaos Ride will be released episodically, with each episode containing six tracks, five game modes, and eighteen different high score tables to beat. Episode 1 is due for release on July 4th, 2014.

damn, the controls look so stiff... I was very interested but I'm not so sure anymore. Guess I'll try the demo once it hits the play store.

The video was captured from an early demo. The final version has much better handling (and vehicle customisation, so you can tune the controls to your preferences).
