What's it all about?
In short, Bat Blast! is a 2D game about magical bats. You point and click (or use a controller) to aim and navigate upwards through the tower. There are enemies to kill and traps to avoid. You can collect fruit to stay energized and hunt for treasure.
There are spells to buy using treasure found in the tower, along with different bats that sport different passive abilities.
Bat Blast! has evolved a bit since I first announced it. In earlier builds, the game was focused on energy management. Running out of energy meant game over.
Blue Bar = Mana
Grey Bar = Swoops
Green Bar = Energy
But after a lot of consideration and testing, I've moved to a more familiar model that employs a Health Bar:
Blue Bar = Mana
Red Bar = Health
Green Bar = Energy
Swoops are now infinite. If you run out of energy, you can keep playing. If you run out of health, it's game over (unless you have lives in reserve!) The game plays a lot smoother in this way.
I've also added a talent system that compliments bat selection and spells:
Play the game to earn points. Points = Stars. Stars = Talents. It's super fun and you can create some crazy and chaotic builds.

It has been fun bringing this thing to life over the last three years. My hope is that it will be enjoyed by many.
