here's how to play 2 players on a same PC,
you need to go to "Custom Vs mode" in the ExVS mod
then use the arrows and the "enter " and "escape'' keys to navigate and setup players,
the 1st Player is on the Game settings you input, (you're first controller/gamepad)
the 2nd Player needs to use Vjoy, a program to setup a second controller:

so do i need 2 controllers for this or can one use the keyboard and the other use the gamepad?
good question...i would try with the controller and keyboard to see if it work, but 2 controller is always better in the end.
