Chill out my guy. I'm pretty sure they're doing this for free and have their own personal lives. No need to be demanding and act like they owe you this.
I can't get it to work. I used the mod loader and it shows up as HLO, then when I try to add the map in instant action it doesn't let me due to the map having no selectable eras. What am I doing wrong?
They stuck with GoldSrc due to the fact that it's what they started with. The team has written thousands of new lines of code and implemented dozens of new features. It's more of a testament to their skills as developers, they're proving something as well as improving their own skills. The ARRANGEMENT team has managed to add a whole slew of new and great features to an engine that dates back to 1998; which in itself is now almost on par with the Source Engine due to these years of work. They would be abandoning a long time of work by switching to another engine, as well as making it harder for themselves by starting from scratch. That's my best explanation for why they continued to use the GoldSrc engine.
Because it's running on the Half-Life 1 engine, better known as Gold Source/GoldSrc. It's a mod, not a completely independent game. Although it may be a heavily modified version of the GoldSrc engine, it still is that engine.
So far in the tech demo I've come across only a small amount of bugs. One of them being that SSAO breaks the lighting in the Hub, another being that sometimes the weapons break when trying to aim down the sights. (although this can be fixed by switching to another weapon and then back again) Another thing I encountered was that enemies seem to be able to both see you and shoot you through walls. The city based level sometimes has very noticeable frame drops when looking directly down the line where the Mounted Turret is, but nowhere else, all other stages have consistent FPS. That's about all I could find in terms of bugs and issues, overall though; Amazing Tech Demo with a perfect amount of things to showcase the wonderful work done by the ARRANGEMENT Team. Best wishes for the future. ~Zacharia :)
Will be sure to check this out once I get out of classes for the day. Glad to finally have the first demo since 2012. Hopefully I manage to give some useful feedback. :)
You should probably fix that typo that says you "own them a lot" Lol, sounds a bit creepy, pretty sure you meant "I owe them a lot" ;)
So since it won't be finished in three days, do you have an estimate of when instead?
Any speculated release date? :o
An hour and a half from now we get to experience glory. Two amazing mods came out so close together. We get Brutal Doom 64, and now Total Chaos; good things all around! :)
Any news on the new demo progress?
Any plans to add kicking and dodging?
Jesus christ, do you people have no patience? Just calm down and wait a bit longer.
Ever heard of timezones, kid?
He's gotta be trolling us XD
"Dont Mad At Him"
"No, John, you are the demons."
Looks like we've got a lot of cancer memes spreading in the comments already. Lol.
Hell yeah, this mod is going to be amazing. So I personally cannot even begin to think aboyt what is to come. You guys are doing an amazing job and I hope to see some new content soon.
This page is even my first bookmark in my browser. >:) Prntscr.com
Man, I've been checking back here every single day and I don't care how long it takes; I WILL wait for this next demo and full release. :)
Thirty days. Get ready everyone >:D
Whoa, whoa, whoa. How the hell did the dev team figure out how to make mods in the GZDOOM/Zandronum engine look so ******* good?
I always go back and play that old demo of Arrangement with the office and the features map and tutorial in it. But then I think to myself: "If this demo is this great, how amazing will the next one be? How amazing will the final game be?" It's one of those things that makes me so excited for the next release. So I can't wait to see what this next demo brings.
Whoa, I literally just responded to a comment explaining that you guys aren't going to give up, and then of course the almighty SysOp shows up. Lol. Hope to see something soon! :D
I'm with you there, bud. I've been following this mod for quite a long time and I don't intend on giving on. Neither does the team. ;)
TL;DR I thanked the devs for working on it for years and being absolutely amazing, thanked the community for being awesome as well. <3
I have become a dedicated follower of this mod ever since I found it. I religiously check this page to see if there are updates, I know so many people who have given up on following this mod. Me? Hell no. These developers are the most dedicated ones I've seen in years; most others just abandon their stuff because it becomes too hard. These lovely devs have pushed through development hell and are still going strong, I have supported this mod/game for a few years now by telling as many people as I can to come check it out and give these guys some love. I'm honestly amazed you guys have done this for as long as you have, kudos to you for caring about the community and yourselves by making your dream a reality. Thank you, from me and on behalf of all the community who hasn't had their chance to say so as well. You developers deserve nothing but the best. Hopefully you can even get this on Steam Greenlight or something similar. Have a great day ARRANGEMENT team and ARRANGEMENT community, you're all amazing. :) For those of you who don't know what Development Hell is: Development Hell is basically when a movie/game/project goes through a tough spot in the creating process where it either get scrapped and started over, or there are several changes between development studios or teams. In ARRANGEMENT's case, I vaguely remember it being completely redone once and they still kept working on it. So anyways, a thousand thanks to the hard working devs and the supportive as hell community. ~ Zacharia
