Well the video was pretty funny, and I understand your frustration completely. But to say that releasing L4D2 is going to screw up L4D1 is overreacting.

Here's how things will probably go down:

OPTION A: Valve accepts your terms.

1 - New features added on L4D1. Community grows, but not as much because L4D2 becomes "L4D1.5". Updates don't bring as many new players as new games.
2 - Everybody in the community is happy, and the customers are pleased. Everyone except maybe Valve, because they will sell considerably less, but they get a major boost in reputation for willingly listening to their community.

OPTION B: Valve releases Left4Dead 2 anyway.

1 - The people who aren't part of this movement will probably purchase L4D2. It will have a significant community.
2 - The people who support this movement will not purchase it. This means they will still play L4D1, and the community will not be hindered. AlCool said: "The current average online community is a mere 20k. The boycott group is at 30k."
That means you still have a major share of the community and can still play online without difficulty.
3 - Valve is happy, and so is the new community and the players who accepted the new game. The only problem is the unhappy boycott community, but they will still be able to play L4D1 - which they prefer, since it has the beloved protagonists, night based campaigns,and the games are, I quote: "nearly identical" anyway.

I'm still thinking whether I should join this or not, but since it seems as though things will work themselves out - both Option A and Option B sound good to me - I don't think I will.

It's actually not that low-poly, but the cheap and repetetive textures make it look like a 1998 Real Time Strategy game unit model. =P

I'd get the original. Definetly - It's alot more serious and down-to-earth, whereas TTS has lots of Hollywood action sequences that are totally over the top and kind of cookiecutter. I mean, MGS isn't the Matrix. =P

Years later, I rejoice with the news that those exact same enhancements are being worked on! Hurray for indie gaming, and hurray for developers who listen to their playerbase!!!

If these guys made this with 500$, I imagine they could make a real, 1 and a half hour movie, with 500$ per every five minutes - 9000$.

Yeah I thought the "Bog" was weird too, but if you think about it the reason it got chosen was because it was not only reminescent of another game, but also a GOOD, BALANCED map. As said before, by "Nostalgia" they actually meant maps based on other games, not so much maps based on "older" games.

Of course digital copies count, digital property is the future! With all the pollution and attempts to save our planet going on, virtual publishing will become more and more common. Does that mean that in the future we won't own any game? Of course not, it only means we don't have physical copies, but we do own it nonetheless.

That said, I love the new swordplay videos, they really show how the game looks more strategic and tactic-oriented when played by really experienced players. Earlier videos looked like they just rolled and jumped around swinging randomly, but in the latest videos they really look fluid and controlled at the same time. Keep up the good work! =D

LOL. I don't think DUPLO would allow many of those "wedge" pieces and smaller, smoother bricks. I don't think DUPLO even has ladders. =P

Did you see the trailer with the guy shooting the flower off the floor? With a "simpler" engine you wouldn't get the powerful physics.

Trust me, in a game based on LEGO-like bricks, there is nothing more important than awesome physics. Otherwise it would just be pixeled, low poly houses.

You got it wrong, the new Phalanx model is the picture on the RIGHT, not the LEFT. =P

After so many failed Feudal Japan mods, it would be expected that at least ONE would succeed! I was overjoyed when I found that the game the mod had been created for was now free, but disheartened when I found the mod to have a small community.

Now I am once again bursting with happiness: with improved graphics, gameplay, and the fixing of bugs, this is certainly one mod not to be missed!

You were so wrong, and thus owned.

It will be temporarily exclusive for testing. If they released the first completed version to public right away it is possible some major bugs would be shipped out alongside it. If they play it for 3 weeks on their own servers they will be able to polish the campaign and phase out bugs before finally releasing it to public.

Don't worry, your time will come.

It's their choice. Even when you don't finish something, you may still learn from it and gain experience. Just because it wasn't finished doesn't mean it was useless to them, so they are free to stop whenever they want.

Maybe an unfinished mod is useless to YOU, but they don't have to care.

Definetly better than the other lord of darkness. XD
