It's good to be back

White-Direwood Blog

It's been allmost 1.5 years since i last even remotely popped on to Mod DB let alone posted something or downloadet a mod. Didnt even remember it existed, but minecraft brought me back. Was looking for a minecraft texture mod and stumbled on to here. Edited my profile and even made a new one to reserve a name for myself wich i might start using but we'll see about that. You will see pictures and screenshots of games from me in the future and possibly a few skin mods or texture mods, sound mods and such, simple things.

I'm available for game testing and modification testing if anyone needs a beta test releace. i'we seen my fair chare of all kinds of games but the top 3 in my gategory are Stragedy RTS and RPG. for example Command&Conguer series, Fallout series, Diablo series, Elder scroll series, Total Annihilation and Supreme Commander, Neverwinter Nights series and many more. FPS games that i play from time to time counting out Fallout 3 are, Half life series, Team Fortres 2 (on pyro), Deus Ex series, F.E.A.R and many more. White Out

From piracy to modifications.

White-Direwood Blog

Piracy is one of the so called "plagues" of the game busines world. The game developpers make a game and puplish it and cash in the money for theyr hard work then the pirates come in and make a copy image what ever off it and post it on the net. The catch here is the following. Would you like if you made a program and god paid for selling it and then someone comes in and makes a copy of it and gives it out for free on the net with out your permision? Alltho there is a twist for the piracy thing too. When you look at the sitsuation from the pirates point of view, mostly they are the normal next door gamer boy or girl or the next door punk boy or the goht girl, they dont nessesarely have the funds to buy the cd's and dvd's needet to play or listen to music what ever the case. So they basicly save a tong of cash for going in to piracy, its like two sides of the same coin, piracy and legal gaming sitsuations. There are alot of games out there that are free to play. Gpotato games are one of the most known free online games, but what about WoW? Blizzards own servers cost to play on, then there are the private servers that are free, is that leagal or crime? Then there is the game world of RF Online the same thing on the server point is there allso, so the fact you dont need to pay for all things is true but you just have to know how to get them to work. My idea of these servers that usualy have custom things running around is kinda a cool idea, but sometimes its highly problematic, just like Modificating a game, for example Half Life 2. I'we experienced many malfunctions in many mods just cause of !. hardware problems 2. Game versions and such. Easily fixed but a bother when you have to do it often.

I think thats enough ranting for now heh.
