Multiplayer is buggy, Quickstart resources will crash the entire match and give you a sync error, Look for white text to look what the mods are able to work with. Extermination already we know is not multiplayer compatible

For you not being able to fight the tyranids is not the mods fault, It's just you don't know how to exactly beat the tyranids, If you allow them to take control of most of the map, Your asking for a beating.

To kill a super unit, You need a super unit. He's a demi-god/relic unit. Using just squads throwing them at him will not work use some relic units back. He's not that overpowered compared to the great gargant titan which can kill units it steps on and take out other titans in only a few shots.

Well, Each Unit's armor is randomly generated, Some will have masks and some won't.

Try to make sure all your files are update to aswell. Try it again and make sure that everything is all well and good. IF your files are corrupted and there's no explanation. You might have a corrupted version of dawn of war.
