Great game, very fun!
Thanks for commenting! We've been thrilled to see a great response so far so it looks like we will be putting together that demo. Please keep up the support with your comments, watches, and shares!
Linux is possible, although not officially supported. The listing of support was just a mistake, we apologize for that.
I've realllly enjoyed this game. It is much more of a strategy game than a run of the mill puzzle game
There isn't much more to say that hasn't already said, except that your rewards are generally unimportant. Of the 20 or so successful kickstarter campaigners that I've spoken to, half don't have a clue why they were successful ("hype" is a common word they use), a quarter say it was because they already had a following, and the last bit say it was because of their pitch/video. None said it was their rewards, and a good chunk said rewards were the least important.
We just did a crowdfuning campaign on 8bit funding (the Iup Bundle, check it out at IupBundle.org). We got about $2,000. There were six developers, each offering a completed commercial game at the lowest reward level ($5). We had videos showing all of our games in progress (some pretty impressive games IMHO), other great rewards, a video showing gameplay, reasons etc.
But we are mostly unknown, have no connections "in the biz" and couldn't mention a huge list of the commercial titles we worked on (not that we haven't worked on any, but its much less impressive when you say "yeah I did minor GUI art for such and such game", etc)
It is completely possible to run a successful kickstarter as an indie, but no unknown three man indie team is going to raise 3 million.
Thank you so much all_zebest! We appreciate it so much!
Very awesome :)
This game is a TON of fun! It is so polished and easy to play!
First, let me say that this is exactly the type of constructive criticism we are hoping for. Thank you for being brave enough to step forward and offer it, and for taking your own time to do so.
We've found the same thing to be true. We actually changed the screen size to help mitigate the issue, going from 800 x 600 to 1024 x 768. This gives us more room for the play screen, and because the other things like mini-map, information display and other indicators are not on the screen yet, the balance is thrown way off.
We are still using a lot of placeholders, so it may very well be that as new art is introduced the styles with begin to mesh better. We expect to make changes along the way, and like Matt said in the video, if there is something that isn't working we would like to hear about it.
Really interesting from a technical standpoint. We are doing this on a much smaller scale in our game the 9th Wizard. Thank you for sharing the guts of your methods. We have been following Vessel for a long time!

Hi askot, I just want to send our gratitude and let you know how much we appreciate having you watch our game The 9th Wizard: Rings of Eternity!
It is great to get comments about the look. We are trying to keep the balance of maintaining a roguelike feel and style, without going too basic. We also don't want to try and get too real or heavy on the graphics because that conflicts with the simple nature of the game. Please keep the comments coming, it will help us navigate the possibilities.
Thanks, Thunderchicken! We can't wait to make another video and release some of the original artwork and music.
Thanks, reece44! We hope to keep interest up with frequent videos and updates, and we hope to get feedback as we begin releasing more of the game's content.

If there is anything I learned from watching old TV, it's that you should be able to run faster and jump higher after your ankle surgery. Let me know how that goes! Anyway, we are excited to have you watching our game! In the words of my grandma, "Thanks a bunch!" Good luck with that ankle.
