Apparently they already had Steamworks at their disposal even before Greenlight. Currently there is playtesting going on with the new patch.
Active Neotokyo Players seems to be the main hub for discussion right now apart from the IRC which I haven't checked.
Apparently the new patch is done, I think we are just waiting for the installer to get made. I won't hold my breath though.
I hope you are right. I am so pumped to get back into NT, a patch would be a real godsend.
Sound like you rather should be wishing for a decent pc. There are games as demanding as Crysis today and there certainly will be more.

Awesome effects. But personally I dislike having my vision obscured in the middle of the screen. This is one of the reasons that I prefer FPS games (not saying I only play FPS'es). Please don't down-vote me if you don't agree with my opinion. It does look beautiful. I'm just saying I might get annoyed at it while playing.
oh and Pendulum is awesome.

200 ping is unplayable anyway. You seriously can't find servers with lower ping? Not saying pb is perfect or anything.

They haven't even announced the alpha version yet, why would the game be released in two months?
If possible, I suggest you make soft shadows (as in the shadows get more blurred farther away). It would look so great. Right now it looks good but it's too sharp for my taste.

The Moddb servers are really fast from what I've witnessed. Had 4 mb/s o a download last time I checked. From Steam I usually get around 1 mb/s.
For anyone that thinks Desura isn't a great idea, read this please.
I think some people are missing the point of Desura. It's not there to replace steam, with it you will have automatic downloading of patches for both mods that valve haven't yet decided are worthy of Steamworks, and for mods that don't use the source engine.
For too many people (myself included) patching all their multiplayer mods is a very tedious process in the long run, automatic patching will just make a lot of mods more popular.
Also, I'm pretty sure I read a comment somewhere that said Desura doesn't have to be running while the game is running. This would mean that you could start Desura, which will then download and install the patches automatically, and then you are free to quit the program, run the game from the desktop or from Steam if you want the in-game overlay. You choose.
It's used in DoD:S also, so it's not just l4d.
They aren't using source engine.

Are you still letting more people in on the BETA? I didn't check the site for two days and then there was four pages of "I want in" in the introduction thread. So I'm guessing the chance of getting to participate is slim now..
Desura will probably change that. Haven't tried Orion but from what I've seen it looks good enough for the Moddb-team to release it on the desura platform.
Well I'm thinking they've done this to filter out sloppy/rushed mods so that the great ones get the attention they deserve. I'm sure they will feature alot more mods than Steam currently does. The mods that don't make it to Desura initially can probably work harder to get there. It's not like moddb isn't there for the rest..
