Are you aiming for a complex diplomacy model? And will the diplomacy options be binding in multiplayer between human players?
And also, modding. How much will be moddable?

Graphic enchancements and ground combat don't strike me as the things that is needed most at the moment, but it's all good if he wants to update as often as once a week.
An interesting concept and big potential.
