Sorry to hear that I personally have never had issues downloading from moddb but have heard others with the same complaints. All I can recommend is maybe try downloading at a different time.
Taking Estalia and Tilea will unlock those units they are tied to special buildings only found in those regions.
You need to wait for the next harvest event, sometimes you have a good harvest and have increased farming output other times bad and have decreased farming output. Better farms will lessen the burden of a bad harvest and increase the yield of a good harvest. I don't see how taking Hornau could break anything with the seasons/farming/fishing/hunting scripts.
Some things have been cut yes, knights of the raven and knights of moor are still in along with outriders. Bloodknights on foot have been cut along with reiksguard on foot, we try to cut as little as possible.
If you have the cd key you can register the game on steam without having to re-purchase.
My only advice is run the 4gb patch as admin and make sure the .exe is not set as read only. I have heard some people having issues with the non steam version so maybe get it on steam. We don't make that LAA or 4gb patch so maybe try some google searches if that does not work for ya, might be some trick to it on some systems.

yes is the data/world/maps/campaign/imperial_campaign/decr_strat you will see brigand spawn rate at the top lower the number to increase spawns 120+ seems to almost turn them off all together.

A few units have been removed to make room for the new stuff. ROTDG was almost at the unit cap when we started so some things had to be cut. The mammoth riders throw axes so in a small way they are still there.
Yeah the idea was to slow recruitment down a bit and represent the skaven clan rivalry. Skaven have such a large and growing number of units getting all of that from one province is a bit much especially late game. Using them as triggers for traits and ancs is also a plus. Eventually more will be tied into them.
IDK you might have a corrupt download, 7zip was used to zip up the mod folder so if thats not working sounds like either a corrupt download or you need to update 7zip.
IDK that is a strange one, maybe make sure the warhammer.bat is run as admin and make it read only. If that does not work try using the steam set launch options method.

Yeah same procedure just rename or delete the old version before installing, don't overwrite the old version.
Well yes you can technically BUT you will run into issues with traits and ancs also character names causing late game corruption. I don't think the "slave" faction was ever ment to be played by the player.
TBH I am not sure if it will work on mac as we have never tried. If you are playing on mac you don't need the 4gb or large address aware IIRC thats already built in the mac version. Next release I want to look into the steps required to get it running right on both mac and linux.
4gb patch or LAA, the mod needs it to launch on most systems.
Lizzy boys have had some love and yes you are correct with darkshards they were insane and have since been balanced. Saurus have had some skinning work and new weapons made so they will look a bit better visually and have a blessed spawn skin as an armor upgrade.
Yeah we probably should that version has a lot of anim updates and fixes but has a bit of campaign imbalance for a couple factions as the econ was a bit in transition in that version. IDK need to talk to the team about it and see what we want to do.
maybe check your folder path and make sure you did not double up on botet folders after unzipping. So make sure that is correct and you don't have something like mods/botet/botet/data it needs to be mods/botet/data.
Oh its a great game even to this day, I would say the visuals are really dated...but yeah this is looking great. I never got on the WoW bandwagon so this is gonna be my first Warcraft purchase in a looooong time.
You are good, just find a team you see eye to eye with and can actually put the work in. Keep going on it and people will join the cause, just don't be shy recruiting team members as long as they can be team players. I am an auto mechanic who knew nothing about modding but with some learning and hard work I was able to teach myself how to do just about everything in medieval 2 in about a year and a half. If I can do it so can you.

Sorry mate as of right now the mod is dead, I am still working on my own version but I don't know when or if I will release it.
About a week, its not an official version or anything just another WIP beta. Don't let that scare you its got some nice updates and additions.
The call of warhammer script will not work with botet you would have to modify it or make a new script to get it back. Chaos still acts like the "pope" and calls crusades vs the empire, its not 50 doomstacks scripted to attack specific cities or anything.
yeah thats an issue you should have other files in there hmmm. Well maybe try to download the discord version? Might work out better, you might have got a corrupted download or something.
