I've tried the recent version and it seems the AI has a little problem when wanding doors. After calling out if there is anyone in the room, they'll immediately follow it up with another statement along the lines of "Looks secure." For example:

Lead: "Check behind the door"
Fields (could be anyone but this is who I had checking): "On it."
Fields: *Checks*
Fields: "Three suspects"
Fields: "Nothing to worry about."

Which isn't game-breaking but can be annoying if you didn't hear that first part and get laid flat because there was "nothing to worry about"

Also the text for the context use (pick up evidence, for example) is still invisible on 16x9, 1600x900 more specifically in my case, resolution. I see it's been fixed for the menus, which is awesome stuff! However, this problem still persists.

Other than those two complaints, everything else worked great! Thanks!

EDIT: Just realized they're saying that because I'm using the "Check for all" command instead of the individual ones. Okay, cool! Thought it was a glitch or something. So omit that first one.

Wait, I don't get this. I dropped the patches folder and .bat file into the main directory but the .bat file only opens Visual Studio. I checked the game and it isn't patched either. What do I do?

This is a life saver. I couldn't find the patches anywhere else!

P.S. Is there a changelog I can view? I was wondering if they ever fixed the crash issues, particularly when playing against 7 Toughest AI's for an hour.

Is there a tutorial on modding models for Unreal Tournament 2004? Like importing ukx files into Blender and the like? I can't find a single thing on it :/

To change the hudlayout to another version follow these instructions:

1. Go to the following directory, which should look something like this: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Alien Swarm\swarm\addons
2. Open the ASC_HUD.vpk with GCFScape and right click "root" and extract it to your desktop
3. Open the new root file on your desktop and navigate to the scripts folder
4. Find the relevant version and rename it to "hudlayout.res". Be sure to delete the normal version first.
4a. If you also don't like some hud element, like the ammo counter, then you can also navigate through materials and delete the related files. Just keep in mind that the HUD was made with those files in mind. If you really dislike the new elements then try the "hudlayout_removethismessageforoldASC_HUD" file after deleting the materials folder.
5. Now you need to go to this directory: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Alien Swarm\bin and find vpk.exe (if it's not there, then you didn't download the SDK. Right now would be a good time to do so.) Drag the root folder over the vpk.exe. If it worked correctly, you should have a "root.vpk" on your desktop.
5a. Remember that you can rename root back to ASC_HUD or something more convenient.
6. Now drop that .vpk file into your addons folder here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Alien Swarm\swarm\addons
7. You should have a working alternate version! Yippee!

Please extract other steam user's mods responsibly.

Sorry for the late reply (I don't get notifications from ModDB for some reason) but you need to place the vpk file into your addons folder. It should look something like this:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Left 4 Dead 2\left4dead2\addons

Hey there! So I got the mod to work on Age of Empires 2 HD using the Userpatch+Compatibility patch combo and everything is working with the exception of two major things: The mod starts in windowed mode and the text is invisible. Some aren't invisible, though, like the text in lists (like the screen resolutions) Anyone ever try this before and have successful results? Really want to try this mod but I don't want to spend 2 days or so trying to find my AoE2 CD in my super disorganized-probably-needs-to-be-nuked storage building.

When installing the r117 patch and it finishes, giving you the options to remove/disable, what does the "Disable the award effects" option actually do? Does it disable the award itself or just the sound/visual effects coming off the player?

Is it possible to find lords? I've been travelling quite a while and I've only found the following: Peasants, mercenary armies, caravans, and some faction patrols. Otherwise, this is a really awesome mod! I love it!
