So a while back there was a user called cervi messias on here who condemned Christianity because of what the European settlers did to the Native Americans. This is my response to him:

I noticed comments from you complaining about what "Christians did to your ancestors" but what you fail to realize, is that the Europeans just happened to be Christian when they colonized America and eventually destroyed many of the Native American tribes. That they were Christian though had nothing to do with their actions. Secular Europeans would have done the same. Certainly many self-professed secular "rationalists" of the time also saw the Native Americans as primitives and barbarians (which realistically they were, with several tribes at least practising human sacrifice and cannibalism so they weren't exactly the innocent saints you make them out to sound).

An earlier example would be the Vikings who went to America centuries before the Europeans and ended up having several battles with the Native Americans, all of them bloody. Should we blame Paganism then rather than culture differences and the fact that many nations have always been lustful for new land or resources (which is what most wars in history have really been caused by)?

The deaths of the Native Americans had nothing to do with religion but rather the west's desire to colonize new land. That the Native Americans were primitive didn't help their own cause either.

The British Empire continued expanding their own empire right into the 19th century. They committed many atrocities against the Indians in India (such as massacres) and all in the name of their empire, queen and country. So very secular reasons. And as you know, the American War of Independence was because of the secular British Empire wanting to keep America in its colonies in its ultimate plan to dominate the entire world. Sure England may have professed Christianity as its official religion (it still does now) but everything the British Empire did was secular in nature and done in the name of the Empire not religion.

Long story short, your irrational hatred at Christianity is unfounded.

You need to calm down Baron Brosephus, you criticize those who are logical and cautious of so called "refugees" (not all are refugees, this has been proven). When you call people with logical and natural scepticism "pathetic cowards without a shred of human empathy" you are judging them. What did Christ say about judging? Don't be a hypocrite and don't judge those you don't know in real life.

It's not for you to judge and certainly not for you to say they are without human empathy because they think with their brains instead of emotionally like you.

The refugee crisis cannot be resolved by letting everyone in indiscriminately, nor can it be resolved by the opposite extreme of barring everyone. However there still needs to be security in place, everything must be done with a level-head, we must also be aware of the very real threat of terrorists coming in through the same means as some of these refugees and migrants. Your emotional thinking has no place in politics. This isn't about religion.

Also, many of the western nations have taken in their fair share of migrants. Stop judging the Christians and westerners and judge the Islamic Gulf Countries that the west funds who have abandoned their own Muslim brethren and refused to take in a single refugee.
