I go by the avatar of "Major Stress", or "Major Stress Puppy" now. I have been modding games since 1998. Starting with Starfleet Command. I am a 3D Modeler, and Texture Artist. I have also modded Homeworld: Classic Star Trek: Sacrifice of Angels, Nexus the Jupiter Incident (ST: Age of War). Two projects for Sins of a Solar Empire. The Sins Optimization Project (now obsolete), and Sacrifice of Angels 2. Currently i am just a freelance artist. I build models for the Homeworld: Remastered mod Star Trek: Continuum with what little free time i have. I am just an ordinary average joe construction worker type. Who also happens to be a sci fi nerd, and geezer gamer. Yes, I am fast approaching my 60th birthday. How time fly's.

ST:Continuum is only for the Steam release of Homeworld:Remastered. We don't have the manpower, time, or resources to make a separate download. Plus the Steam Workshop 1)helps us track down bugs, and crash issues much faster, and easier. 2)Assures you have the most current version of the mod, because it will auto update when we release new content.

Mod is for HW2 Remastered. But you will want to use multiplayer/skirmish to run the mod.

We had similar issues with SoA2 for SotSE. SotSE is now 4 different versions of the same damn game. Updated practically weekly back when in its prime. Had to rebuild the mod from scratch with almost every patch (for each different version). There is a Steam, CD, and GoG version. While a little more forgiving than HWR, We had no time to make any new art, or content for SoA2 dealing with all of these issues. So i am with Nathan. Supporting different versions of the same mod will only hurt all of us in the end. At least with Steam you are guaranteed the most up to date versions of the mod, and game.

No not at the moment. I am still evaluating the need for TSOP for Rebellion. Stardock incorporated their own optimizations using TSOP as a guide when they made Rebellion. So there really is no need. Vanilla Rebellion runs at 1.7 gigs at max everything on my laptop. The only lag i get is the usual late game lag which nothing can be done about (unless someone converts this to 64 bit, and multicore CPU).

That is because TSOP will not work with STA3. There is no version of TSOP that works with Rebellion at the moment. Right now only Original Sins, and Entrenchment is supported. That is because Stardock pretty much fixed all of the issues that plagued those 2 games with the latest Diplomacy patch, and they incorporated much of TSOP into Rebellion. Which is why there hasnt been a new version of TSOP for Rebellion. It is really not needed.

Outstanding job!

The artwork in this mod definitely trumps SoA2 (we have no modelers). I would have chose different roles for some of the ships, but overall STA3 is quite enjoyable. Congrats guys.

Looking forward to see what you do with Axanar

I cant speak for Nathanius. But in this case i can't really say when with any certainty. There is a LOT of work that needs to be done in all of the eras. This is not just a mere porting of the classic mod over. Much is getting re-worked. I am just now learning the tricks of HW2 modding. There are things remastered can do that classic can not, and we want to take full advantage of that. Perhaps Nathanius can give a clearer answer. Just know we are working on it ;)

In ST:Contiuum she will obviously be in a different slot than the kushan scout. I just have it here for testing purposes. Texture, and mesh tweaking.

It may seem like we are focusing only on TOS, but trust me Nate has a lot more stuff in work for remastered.

Looking real good so far. Did you use particles for the bussard animations? because Sins doesn't support mesh animation, or texture animation (except in the particles). Regardless it looks great.

Good luck with your project :)

Yes Way. I loved it too. Unfortunately it suffered from several problems. It's widescreen was borked (3d worked fine, but it messed up the UI, and mission briefs). Then there is the inept hard coded AI. The ships looked great in game, but the horrible AI pretty much killed it for us. It did make a good test bed for the early attempts at bump, and spec mapping. I use the NanoFX Evolved engine for that now. If it my models look good there then they will look good in almost any game :)

Thanks. This particular model is 11 years old, and was made for a mod for Nexus the Jupiter Incident that never happened. I released it as a Starfleet Command/Bridge Commander mod. Version 4 will look almost identical to this model, but be much more detailed.

Looking Good :) I that agree there are so many conflicting references out there. Best bet is to use as many screen caps as you can.

When i get more done i will post wireframes. It is not a "solid" mesh. If it were solid the poly counts would be triple.

As you can see i updated TSOP for Original Sins, and Entrenchment to work on the latest patch updates for Sins.

TSOP 1.0 will be the FINAL version of TSOP that i make. Work is in progress for the Diplomacy, and Rebellion plus DLC versions. Despite the fact that Diplomacy, and Rebellion do not need TSOP. A "Little More Optimization" can't hurt ;) No ETA yet. All i can say is "soon".

TSOP 0.07 is still hosted here, because i can not delete them! If you have the versions of sins they were created for then go ahead and use them. The old Rebellion TSOP DOES NOT work. Again i cant delete it, and i dont know why.

The mod is for is the latest version of Diplomacy. Which is 1.37. You are correct. I should have specified the version on the download link. Though it is in the readme.

You "should" have a new Mods-Rebellion v1.82 Dev folder if you ran dev.exe. If not then click mod location in your options, and the game will make the folder for you. Then copy/paste the mod into the new "Mods-Rebellion v1.82 Dev" folder. You should be able to now load the mod in dev.exe.

You posted this link on the Armada 3, Republic at War, Homefront, and the Stargate mod pages on ModDB. Yet you do not intend to spam....

I appreciate your enthusiasm, but i already know of this project. I am waiting to see how it pans out before i put any money into it.

I am Major Stress. I just cant change the account name here. I cant possibly remember "everyone" that contacts me for permissions (and a lot of people do). So if he did then my apologies. I just didn't remember, and i'm cool with it. I probably told him what i am about to tell you.

Much of the work in SoA 2 uses "blanket permissions". Including my own work. What it means is that as long as proper credit is given for the work then feel free to use it.

However, There are other 3rd party SoA 2 works that do require you to ask permission from the specific author before you can use them. Get with MyFist0 on the SoA 2 team to see which models do require those permissions.

What triggered me off was that there was no readme at all in your latest release.

Other than that i played the mod, and its pretty good :) Considering that i am not a big fan of Stardrive that should say a lot. I would hate to see all the hard work go to waste over something really stupid.

Why did you guys take models straight out of SoA 2, and NOT provide a ReadMe listing the model author's credits?

TheStressPuppy - - 327 comments @ The Sins Optimization Project for Rebellion

Just FYI. This version of TSOP for Rebellion is long obsolete. Rebellion has been updated several times, and the DLC's have been released since TSOP:R was released. While TSOP:R may still work there may be some issues. We are not updating TSOP:R any more, because there is no longer any need to. Stardock, and Ironclad pretty much have fixed, and optimized everything in Rebellion themselves.

I would have deleted this file, but i cant.

It is only to play sins. If you enable it with other mods there may be errors. Which is why i left all of the gameinfo files in text so that other mod teams could incorporate all of the changes.

Not all Romulan ships are "weak". Many are dated refits to replace Dominion War losses (which the romulans got their ***'s handed to them, because of their "bigger is better" doctrine). Do not underestimate the older ships. Combine plasma torpedo armed ships with the heavy hitters like the D'Deridex, and you will have a line of Borg killers. The cloak can be used in case the battle doesn't go your way.

Ha! I grew up watching syndicated re-runs of TOS in the 70's, and watched TMP on release day in the theaters. Yes i admit it i am OLD. However these fools trashing over genes vision (replacing original sci fi with "super hero action, and cgi explosions") need a boot up their butts. Us old school trekkies know how it should be done ;)

We are working on the new art, and updated meshes on our free time (what little of it we have). So we have no set release dates. Basically when its done is when it will be done.
