Support from the UK. The World Wide Web was created as a means to share information freely- it consists of user-generated content and shared ideas. How can it be that the US Government think they have the right to censor what they do not own?! If these pass it will be a dark day for freedom.

themoodude - - 24 comments @ What do you game on mostly?

My case, PSU, HD + DVD Drive are relatively old; a couple of years or so. The rest was a fairly recent upgrade. So I could argue I'm between; but where it counts it's pretty new- but not absolutely top-end; still enough to play every game I've tried on it in max settings without a hicup.

This seems incredibly promising. Of course there's still a way to go; but I can see this taking off! I'd play it, and I know a fair few others who would too! If at all possible could you try to include split-screen local multiplayer options? You never get split-screen fps games on pc these days; of course gamepad support would be required.

Can't wait for more weapons, levels, and the teddies!

Dude this mod is awesome! Not unsolvable and frustrating, but not too easy. I'd say it's at least a 9. You've enlisted some great voice acting- you can't have enough glados! The use of spheres is great- their roll-ability adds for that little extra bit of complexity; you can't just put it down! Chamber 6 is brilliant- imaginative use of smash-able glass is great!

It feels very well made; just too short.

GTA IV wasn't a day old before I had it playing my music- but I never wanted to do that with VC. Between VRock (when sober) and Emotion (when drunk) it had everything I needed! Will you be bringing the DJ's over too or just the tracks?

This is looking great guys! I really do hope you can fully implement the harrier from SA; that'd just be amazing! I don't know what more to say than I'm incredibly impressed. It brings back lots of memories and I can't wait for mess about on a finished product!

The installer made me a little catious at first; I tend to like to know exactly what I'm changing and where, but I take my hat off to you (I shall have to buy a hat in order to take it off, that is); the installer is great. It gives you options that I didn't expect, such as offering to install the Trainer and Scripthook! It was quick too and didn't even require me to back up the game myself.

Absolutely hassle-free install and so far a great mod. Glad to see you've tried to stick a couple of the planes in there; here's to hoping they eventually work as SA- although granted IV didn't include planes so making that happen isn't exactly a piece of cake.

Not sure how much more work is to be done on the map but an FYI with my install at least there's a hotel/motel on the train tracks in NE Venturas.

Best of luck to you guys, I shall keep my eye on this one! :D

FYI for anyone trying to install:
Downloaded from here (torrent). Worked absolutely fine using GTA IV (not EFLC) Patch 1.0.4.0.

It's looking really good! I can't wait to give it a whirl!!! Can't help but think this is going to engulf much of my time once released. Will you guys be recreating the campaign too? I'd love to replay the VC story using the Rage Engine!!!

As said I'd love to see perhaps future work to improve some textures but keeping them in the style of VC; a HD VC on Rage! Loving how it's going so far though dudes!!!

themoodude - - 24 comments @ How can we lower game piracy?

Speaking as someone who, for a long time, almost exclusively torrented games my main objection to buying them was price. I'm not the sort of person to necessarily finish every game I play, especially if they fail to engross me. This has held true when I, relatively recently, discovered Steam (I know I was very late to the game). With low game prices, and no hassle with discs; I now buy more than I torrent.

Additionally I've always believed that if I buy something, I should have the right to use it as I wish; it is for this reason that some games I have previously bought on disc I play using cracked files to avoid the hassle of disc-checks.

Piracy, at least for me, revolves around 2 areas. Price and Flexibility. The impact of each of these areas depends on the media in question.

For example; television shows and films. I don't really object to the prices of a DVD, however I do object to buying a film that is restricted to that disc. I like to keep my film collection on a hard drive, that is subsequently shared throughout my house. A DVD collection very much limits this. The same can be said to be true of DRM-enable music, such as iTunes, and many iterations of protection on audio CD's.

That's me anyway; I'm sure for a lot of people out there it's as simple as; "if you can get it for free, why pay?". Which is a saddening thought.

This sounds like it could be really interesting. I'm always one to play a game for the story; and I love the HL2 / Portal games. I've been playing/re-playing Portal 2 for the past couple of days now and I can't wait for the mods to start appearing :D

This does sound really promising. Can't wait for a taster :)

For the first few seconds of gameplay it looks incredibly promising. The new car models look great. That said the first few seconds is all I was able to get. It crashed after about 10 seconds of entering a car. This really is a shame, because it looks great. If the stability could be sorted I'd recommend this!!!
