The beta is for Discord only. The final release will be made available on ModDB.

One reason is because we are still gathering feedback and releasing hotfixes as needed and it's easier/preferred to do all that via Discord than on ModDB especially since ModDB has primarily been where we release the official versions of the mod.

Our team works on the mod when we have time and we all have our busy lives.

While we appreciate everyone's patience, we did at least release the most-up-to-date version of the mod + hotfixes as they're needed so you can still play.

The released beta version is feature-complete save for some things that are more cosmetic (from my recollection) so I would recommend just playing what's available.

Again, thank you for your patience but please do enjoy the mod.

Hello torremond,

Thank you for your kind words. As for your suggestion, that is not possible for our team and it's not something we would do - we are a mod of Medieval 2 and we are not interested in or have the time/ability to re-create a multi-million dollar game that took an entire team of professional developers years to create.

Hello,

Thank you for your comment and feedback. I can pass your suggestion off to the team but I will say that you are able to make these edits yourself if you wish - as nothing is stopping you from modding your own version of DaC.

There should be guide videos on YouTube and I think Arachir Galudirithon (the former mod leader of DaC) has at least a couple guides on editing units and their recruitment/availability.

We can't expand the map easily, especially to the east as the map would have to be re-created and every settlement, region, unit, spawn, script (which spawns units) would have to be updated to reflect the new map coordinates so it's literally not feasible to do.

No. You'll have to download the base game yourself. DaC is only a mod which adds additional files, we can't be re-distributing the core game across that internet as that would be illegal.

We don't have plans to make such a change however you're free to mod your version of the game to change the music yourself. That's one of the benefits of a mod :)

Don't put units right behind the gate because the enemy AI/pathfinding that's hardcoded into the game will just push through your units.

What you should do instead is place your units in a U or |_| shape formation behind the gate (or just in general, space out your units near a chokepoint) to allow the enemy's units to have space to fill in.

Example:
G = gate
X = empty space/street
W = wall
B = buildings
U = units (yours)

(I've put spaces between the letters to make it easier to read)

Hello and thank you for posting your idea however I would say (at this time and for the foreseeable future) this doesn't look like something we'd implement so we'd leave it up to you or the community to make a sub-mod.

Keep an eye on the Discord for hotfix releases and eventually we'll release the final version (which will primarily be filled with bug fixes that are found during the open beta).

One thing to know is that V5 is a stable, feature-rich version so there won't be any new, major additions between the open beta and full release (there may be some cosmetic/minor new pieces of content).
