I think I'm not the better person to ask.
I'm a coder that turned itself into a low level modeler and texturer because i work alone.
I use photoshop for textures (many very good tutorial on 3rdage) and gmax/renx for models\animations but i never create from scratch.
One day i'll learn how to model with Blender, for now i just edit existing art ;)

Thanks for the answer.It is good for another guy's started a mod in 2020. I thouhgt I'm alone. ;)
