This advice in particular just seems to general to me. Sorry, but i think that it's just the X-ray engine's fault of not being able to handle all of the extra data / the rig used is simply not powerful enough to handle the mod. However, one thing that should be noted that in Win 7 at least using a compatibility setting of an earlier OS version can actually cause performance drops.

Want to have a good time?

Open your gamedata folder (inside game directory), then go to sounds\monsters\bloodsucker and open the file bloodsucker_script_attack_0.ogg

Then enjoy the mental imagery after hearing that. You're welcome. ;)

Yes, you sure can.
Change "switch_distance" parameter inside of gamedata\configs\alife.ltx

Sure, would be great. Just drop a list of songs you like (preferably with youtube links) in the thread, i'll see about adding them, but at one point i will probably have to cut down the list a bit, say, when i reach 200-250 songs. However, i have to say, that i am not a fan of the vocals in the song you posted, but i guess it fits the atmosphere. I personally liked this Youtube.com a bit better. :)

Hello, everyone.

If you are unhappy with the current performance of the mod, or would like to hear more songs played on the radios in safe areas, then feel free to check out the thread i made in the forums - Moddb.com

In the new version of the radio addon there's now around 100 new songs added to the game and the performance textures package has also been updated and further optimized.

Heh, i actually tried that parameter (only in 1 file, however), it didn't appear to work. I'll check this eventually...

It's nice to hear that you are making progress, but if you don't want to download the whole SDK for sound tweaking, check out "S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Sound Attribute Viewer and Tweaker" (here: Metacognix.com), that Cybersemtex posted at the stealth thread.

Also, this isn't a PM, this is just a comment that shows up on my profile page. :P

Guys, you should give the developers time: anyone who has modded the game knows, that it is not exactly a walk in the park (i personally don't even use the SDK). So, they might have made a false statement about the release, but the added feature/-s probably needs testing, you'll be glad that you waited when the patch comes out (i assume lots of bugfixes, since players are able to provide much more feedback).

As for improving the gameplay/balance: you can do that now already, just head over to my forum post (https://www.moddb.com/mods/stalker-misery/forum/thread/stiivais-misc-adjustments-for-misery-20-downloads) and download some tweaks... :/
Alternatively, you could install the "unfucker" (not even kidding about the name) patch (https://www.moddb.com/mods/stalker-misery/forum/thread/unofficial-patch-for-yall).

I'm also open for suggestions, if you feel that the mod needs more tweaks (however i can't really do that much, since i'm not exactly an experienced modder).

Either way, i am still going to dissect the patch and discover every new feature. :D

Guys, i am currently making a couple of tweaks to the mod: everything from lag fixes and instructions of how to get mission/all audio to be in english, to things like a stealth re-tweak, mutant speed/damage adjustments etc. Feel free to check this thing out right here, on the forums: Moddb.com

Also, i am making a texture pack, where ALL of the Misery's textures have 2x lower resolution (but some smoothing): this is an attempt to allow a wider audience to play the game with less frustration. Currently i'm around 30% done with rendering, after another 8-10 hours i'll have the files, then it's a matter of tweaking and uploading. Cheers!

I came across a bug in Misery 2:
whenever i buy a SKS (the normal version, don't know if this affects others) from Owl at Skadovsk, the game crashes. I can buy it and have it in my inventory, but as soon as i equip it - CTD.

Here's a fragment of error log:
Error Reason:
----------------------------------------
xrEngine.exe caused ACCESS_VIOLATION in module "C:\STIIVAIS\Games\S.T.A.L.K.E.R\bin\xrGame.dll" at 0023:08B6EB3C, CDialogHolder::CDialogHolder()+2327052 byte(s)

System Error:
----------------------------------------
0x00000012 - There are no more files.

Is it possible that it's my pc, or is it a bug?

No, thank you. Whimped out and after my first 5 deaths and changed the actor.ltx to something less frustrating (~130% resistances). The mod itself is great, though! :D

If you are capable of making a merge, then yes. But out of the box, no. If you intend to do this, however, you might need to patch the mod with the Atmosfear compatibility patch for M.S.O. (by also merging them, not just overwriting).

However the mod appears to be unstable, so i wouldn't recommend to download it at this state. :(

Are all of the downloaded files of proper size? If not, redownload them again (seems as an unstable network connection to me).
All i can recommend, since SonofX51 seemed to experience none of these issues.
You are using the Mediafire links, right?

No, i'm sure. But first, would you please mind keeping the comment count a bit lower (i have no idea to which one i should reply)? :O

Crashes certainly are possible (however even i didn't have the frequency you describe), but without the error log i can't tell what's causing them. Could you at least collect a couple of error codes and upload them? That way i can ask the author of M.S.O. what's causing these crashes (however he might be too busy in Misery team at the moment) and possibly patch them.

Are you running with the RAM patch? Have you got enough memory, no stuttering or low fps (lower graphics settings)? If on Win7, are you running as administrator? Have you got absolutely NO other mods running? I know, that this is trivial, but at the moment i have nothing else... :/

Q: Why was it split in parts?
A: Because my internet connection is incredibly slow and (as of recently) unstable, therefore waiting 7 hours for the 1GB file to upload, just to have the connection fail towards the end would be incredibly frustrating.

Q: Why don't you upload to Moddb?
A: Because i've used external media hosting sites for quite some while now and am familiar with their interface and abilities (Mediafire has resumable uploads, which is a great feat for people like me), however Moddb is new to me and some things are confusing (such as the formatting resetting whenever i paste a new line in the post i'm making), i am also not sure about the upload speeds etc.

Simply put, i believe that Mediafire will be "sufficient", since this mod is not likely to attract nearly as much attention as, say, Misery. I would upload it here, if my connection wouldn't keep resetting every hour or so (Latvia internet :X).

Sorry about the inconveniences i may cause, i'm doing the best i can...

I think that the best way to do it would be compressed, since that would allow users to have as small download as possible. Of course, before you make the torrent, you should check the file, if it extracts correctly etc.

Although, i am currently only at 30% of the upload... >_<
I hate wireless internet connections.

Here's an idea: maybe smrtphoneusr (author of S.M.R.T.E.R.) hasn't disappeared, maybe he's just uploading that 10GB file with a slow internet connection? ;)

As for the download issues, i am very sorry.

It appears that Dropbox severely limits download capacity, going so far as cutting off downloads mid-way (that's why archives end up being smaller than values indicated in the download link article and fail to extract).

I am currently uploading to Mediafire, however this might take a long time (8 hours?), anyone who already has the mod is welcome to share with others (complete archive only).

I should probably say that i won't be able to make a torrent because of my bandwidth, yet any 3rd party reuploads or torrents will be welcome, once i get the main upload ready.

I've removed most of the S.M.R.T.E.R. scripts, so build 6 should be more stable (crashes were frequent in 5, which wasn't public), however there still might be some incompatibilities.

As for the RAM fix, here it is: Moddb.com also Gamershell.com or Gamefront.com
It is recommended only if you run 4 or more GB of ram, and have a Windows Vista/7 (64bit?). You should read the file description, perhaps, i haven't tinkered with it in quite some time.

Here are all the crashes i've got, but they might be specific to my pc, since it can't quite handle the memory requirements for complex scenarios:
1) Game sometimes crashes when starting a new game.
Fix: restart
2) Game sometimes crashes when there is too much AI processing going on
Fix: restart (appears to be random)
3) Game sometimes freezes when loading saves
Fix: load an earlier save, remember to save oten.

If this is true, then i will re-upload the damaged part(s), however i will only be able to test this tomorrow (going to sleep now). Could anyone else confirm this?
Also, check the archive size: if it's any less than 300MB, then you may not have the whole archive downloaded...

Do you have any character stat customization planned? Any distinct characters, or just blue guy vs red guy?
For a mobile game it doesn't look bad, it's just that you should speed up the movement animations or make the steps longer to eliminate the "gliding" effect. Good luck with your game. :)

Sadly, no. This was built on top of S.M.R.T.E.R. 0.41, which didn't have any new maps added. The author, smrtphoneusr, has been offline since the end of 2012, some presume that something bad might have happened. Therefore, there simply is no way i (or anyone else besides him) can access the map files he was working on.

I just hope he is all right. :(

Guys, i know that it might be said that i am spamming by now, but here is the mod i've been working on, that would merge M.S.O with S.M.R.T.E.R 0.41 (among other things): Moddb.com .
The mod page is not a lot to look at, but i would appreciate it, if you had a look at the mod.
