I was able to get the game to load at 10k stars today, but it took me at least 30 min, after which I was out for a while, allowing it to continue to load. This reinforces my thought that my processor is to blame for the issues with starting a game with custom galaxy sizes.

Right now I'm working on squashing some large bugs for the next update, the mod will still work with the current version but I've found that the AI aren't expanding their empires this is due to the tech modding I've done, and isn't a new issue, as soon as I figure this out without creating bigger problems I'll release a new version. If the outdated mod warning bothers you, just change the line supported_version="2.2.3" to whatever version you're using at the time

Sorry for the long time between updates, I'll be working on the final 2.0 release soon, then I plan on doing a series of small changes and maybe release it as an overhaul, I haven't been playing stellaris since the last mod update, but with these new expansions I will be updating. the current release (v2.0a) should work for the moment, but will probably have some bugs, like not being able to increase fallen empires and probably some others since they updated the files I modded in one of the expansions.

I can't promise great star names just yet though, the ones that are currently in the mod I semi-randomly generated through a bash shell, and just a random mashup of sci-fi names.

I'm playing on WB version 1.173 and having a few issues.

I dropped the module into my modules directory, and started the game, after setting up an awesome tree i came to realize that there's not a single looter/bandit/sea raider ect. anywhere on the map. I've traveled all over for 16 days in game without being attacked once or even seeing anyone that wasn't a villager, caravan, or vassal of a realm.

I also tried to compile it from source using module system 1171 and failed.

I tried transferring the cstm_ files and adding the "cstm" to my modmerger options file and got tons of errors about looters not being found as well as other warnings and errors. I also tried adding the other files that weren't modmerger or module system files with the same outcome. I eventually decided to just drop the 1171 module system and modmerger files directly into the source directory and set my path in module_info.py installed modmerger then tried to compile, and got the same outcome again.

My assumptions of these problems are either:
1) I need to compile with module system version 1166 and I need to downgrade to a previous version of warband (I haven't tried this yet.)

or

2) The problems I'm having are just a bug in the mod and i will need to learn python to fix the files themselves.

I think I know what you are talking about, I'm testing a fix on it that will be in the next release.

I am (slowly) working toward a 2.0 with a new name list, it will include proper capitalization, I am aiming for 5k-10k star names as well as more galaxy size variances.

I am currently at about 3k-4k names in my list, I'll probably be releasing a testing version of 2.0 later today or tomorrow, I have to do a bit of testing first, but if I include the vanilla name list It will have around 5k-6k star names. The version will be 2.0a

I am unsure what you mean, what's the issue with fallen empires?

Sorry for the late response, I haven't been very active lately.

I haven't played Fallen Empires Expanded but as long as it doesn't alter "\common\random_names\base\00_random_names.txt" or alter/add any files in "\map\setup_scenarios" it should work together.

If it adds any setup scenarios then you would need to go in to the txt files within "\map\setup_scenarios" and edit the priority to make sure the scenarios list properly in game

If it uses it's own 00_random_names.txt file, you could either merge the files or use theirs. If you merge you will need to find "star_names = " in both files and add copy and paste everything after the opening curly bracket making sure to give each star it's own line.

I've used this a little while ago, and I loved it, thanks for this great mod.

I have one idea, maybe in a new book mark make about half Ireland Norse it would be nice to see all the small countries in Ireland starting holy wars and making alliances.

Sorry for the late response, I havent been on ModDB for a couple of days, F4RO will include weapon and junk alterations in the future, I haven't gotten that far just yet, but they are next on the list, I recently released version 1.0 on the other modding site, not sure if I can name it here, I'll be uploading it here now too. so far I only have renamed the food and drugs, as well as added a food poisoning effect for a couple items so far, and renamed the Syringer to Dartgun due to renaming all the syringe items as "Dart".

Each inventory section in the pipboy (EX. Aid, Weapon, Junk ...) will be released as a separate .esp file for better customization and compatibility with other mods.

I haven't noticed any more lag than normal in the game when using this mod, I have 8g ram installed and an i3-4130t and I tend to stay around 50-60 fps unless I play at the fastest speed then it drops to 20-30, but that's the same for me with vanilla as well so there's no change here.

I suppose some issues may be caused in late game due to the amount of civilizations and their ships all moving around the galaxy map, but I never play that long to notice, if that's the issue then try playing with 39 or less.

This is a great mod so far, thanks for taking the time to make it.

Is it planned to add more factions at all? I noticed an empty area on the eastern part of the map south east of Poinsbruk as if there's supposed to be at least one more smaller faction or even a few more locations.
