Went back and tried it a few more times, and I wasn't able to rapid fire at zero ammo. Was just a little confused as to the ammo conservation aspect. Thanks for clarifying!

I think this is a bug, but does ammo actually matter? I was able to fire and burst fire after my ammo count read zero.
