I honestly have to agree. It takes a LOT of time to make a game, more than it might seem at first glance, and even more to make 5 games (in one). This is in fact one of the reasons Spore ended up being so unsatisfactory. It is also much harder to actually make a game in your free time than as a part of a job. If you stick with your plan the game will be made in the soonest in 10 years. Nothing wrong with that, but hey, kind of hard to get new people to commit to the project. If you just stick with biological evolution you stand a bigger chance of finishing it in a reasonable time-frame and getting new volunteers.
Either way, I fish you luck and admire what you're doing here. This is just friendly advice.

They're doing this for free, they're not some big company nor are they even some small payed team, they're doing this as a hobby, in their free time and they have lives, obligations, jobs, school etc to worry about... they owe us nothing...
Therefore they can't even in theory "slack off", but yes, an update would be nice.
