Zielan, site-admin(clever name I guess) posted that it was cancelled, and I deleted the comment. This was a post in reply to that. I should've gotten it as well.

Once a proper battle system is resting in place of what we have now, the mood will shift, including music, to reflect the transition from exploring or whatever you were doing to that of battling.

If you're being warned that the files contain a virus it's most likely that your antivirus program is giving you a false positive.

Growlithe will be the next pokemon added, but he didn't make the cut for this update.

Well, potentially generation 3, but that's as far as we're going to go. Our plan was always to stop at generation 2, but we might consider 3. Definitely not 4 and onward, though ;)

Every couple of weeks, we'll be trying just to put out whatever's done up to that point. That means that it definitely won't be super ginormous steps forward each time, just baby steps, but that's okay.

Yeah, going with a two-week update means that each update is going to be SIGNIFICANTLY smaller than the jump from v1 to v2.

However, even just adding AI in, limited as it may be at the moment, is something I consider quite a big leap.

Not every attack will have to adhere to a click-to-aim, but expect the majority to keep this scheme. Xatoku had to give up quite a bit in just dropping the point-and-click movement-which I myself am quite thankful for.

This leaves enough of the RTS play to at least leave him semi-contented, and while we did want to speed things up a bit from turn-based, we felt this was a good medium. I originally envisioned things working similarly to what you describe, but I'm actually quite glad for our current control scheme.

Remember, we could still be using point-and-click for everything!

It's the TAB button. If, however, you mean that you can't capture or send anything out since the update, once inside the main menu, press the "reset" button.

Only the first two generations of Pokemon will make the cut.

Note

Everyone will have to reset prior to capturing or sending out a Pokémon, due to some slight reworking. This is intended. If you do NOT reset, it'll just break your game until you do.

It's a false positive.

The original challenge was this: Fight all 6 AI pokemon at once using ONLY SQUIRTLE and no healing (unless you count deflecting leech seed, which was acceptable)

The new challenge is just to defeat bulbasaur with Squirtle, and whomever has the fastest time is the winner. Recordings have to be provided to ensure legitimacy, of course.

We'll be looking into ways to better optimize things in the future.

I think we still have quite a few mechanics to tackle and improve before we throw RPG elements in the mix, but eventually we'll get there.

AI is still in its infancy. Eventually the wild pokemon will roam, and pidgey will fly.

100% catch rate may not be as entertaining, but we don't need to test capturing right now. There are lots of other potential problems to sort out at the moment, than making sure you don't get bored :P

Babysteps!

It means that some things changed between the last update and this one, and you need to reset your party data, else the game thinks you have a full party but you are unable to do anything.

ONCE you reset, everything should work as normal.

Hmmm... Well, your firewall could be blocking the launcher, we've had people with that trouble on the forums.

If you have the launcher, it should detect a new version and download it.

There really isn't a need for attitude, if you'll look down almost RIGHT below, I've posted a comment telling you to reset your party data.

Did you try resetting your party data? The update post here is still waiting approval, but trying to capture/send out without resetting can cause an upset, since things have been reworked a little.

If you're getting the file from here at Mod/Indie DB, then the virus warning is a false positive, as far as I know. I've got the same version on my PC. It's possible that your antivirus is prohibiting/blocking its function, so you might have to set up an exception.

However, this is the internet, and rather than just taking me at my word(lies on the internet? Never!), hopefully there are others that'll mention that they, too, had the false positive and were able to play without any worry, easing any burden of worry you might have.

If you try capturing on a server it doesn't work as intended currently, yielding that issue.

Also, there is a reset button at the main menu if party trouble happens.

I see that you fixed your issue, but hopefully anyone reading with the same problem could read this and benefit.

I think this is a problem where all of the assets didn't properly download. You might try redownloading and see if that fixes it.

Something will happen, akin to them staying "fainted"-complete with those swirly eyes, for a few moments(with exceptions for some pokemon) and if you fail to capture it, it'll regain some health and run away/try to fight you again.

Though for now that's not soon.

It's got a long way to go in terms of optimization and content, but thanks! We're hoping to learn a lot and have plenty of fun, and this seemed like a project we could do that with.

Green was initially planned as the female trainer option, but Xatoku would rather look into letting the user make their own character, male or female, saving Green for later.

Hi there. I don't stop by moddb often, but I'll try to be helpful. If you read through that error report it should give you some clue as to what's wrong. Alternatively (and make sure there isn't any sensitive data) you could post the error report on our forums and someone there could be more helpful.

It's just super tough to be helpful when I have so little to go on :(
