I mod for a bunch of games, mainly Half-Life. I excel at editing models, not coding or mapping, I suck at both. I also can do basic texture editing in Photoshop. It comes as no surprise that Half-Life is my favorite game. I come across as a boring guy, I don't watch movies, TV shows, Anime or read Manga, Japanese culture is vile anyway. Limited interests, one may say. Most games I play have existed way before I was even born. My music taste is a bit different than your average Joe's, I listen mostly to Synthwave and Witch House, Electronic music put it simply. My favorite band is Crystal Castles, I didn't find peace in their songs, only depression, self-hatred, nostalgia and a thirst for days of yore. Despite all of this, their songs is what I enjoy the most, even when they had made my mental life worse, brought me solace however. It's what I'd take over Rock, Metal or whatever the frick a normal person listens to. This has turned into a rant, sorry.

Actually, there are two models. The second model is "hgrunt_blk" and contains the African versions of the heads shown here. The game randomly chooses between the two files.

So when can we expect a release? They look really lovely. :)

I can give them to you if you want, releasing them probably means modders (Likely Russians) gonna steal these models and claim them as their own.

Hi

Well just sitting on them wouldn't benefit the Half-Life Community a lot would it?

It could happen and you're right but there's usually nothing a modder can do about it. Unless it's listed on sites like this one where you can ask the support stuff to remove something if you can proof it to be stolen content created exclusively by you but yes it won't stop the spread or upload to other sites unfortunately.

Anyway I would gladly take them. As I mentioned before I did the exact same thing you did with your model pack but in my case with HD Romka made Grunts instead.

For the code I received from the devs of the Hazard Team (Half-Life: Field Intensity) they are unfortunately not so usable due to the way the animations run. To slow and to weird in their combat behavior. Something that bugged the Romka model packs since day1. The HD soldiers made by Gearbox remained fast and agile just like the vanilla Hl1 soldiers used to be and seemingly like your grunts will be as well.

I will naturally credit you and your hard and amazing work.
Feel free to PM me. I'm looking forward to test and integrate them to my project that is the merging of Firestorm and Military Duty into an even larger and longer mod package.

I guess you're right. If I can't put them to good use, someone else should. And by the way, speaking of anims, these grunts use the vanilla animations with the exception of the idle and run animations, these are the HD ones.
It's best that we continue this discussion to Discord

Description

Reverted to the old Op4 body and added a Desert Eagle and a Holster (from the engineer)
Changed the M4 back to MP5.
Removed some heads, I felt they don't fit Half-life.
Grunts armed with shotguns spawn with shells on their torso (Done via skins)

Games from which I used assets:

Half-life: Opposing Force (Most heads and the body)
Team Fortress Classic (The Spy, The Sniper and The Scout heads)
Counter-Strike 1.6 (Balaclava texture from Arctic Avengers)
Counter-Strike: Condition Zero (Beanie mesh and texture from Arctic Avengers)
Day of Defeat (Face texture not show here)

Also from the HD pack for the original Half-Life, squad leader face texture and "run" animation.
