I also want add that there were entries (and I'm not talking about my own ones) that showed that a lot of work and thought went into them and that were true to the rules. I honestly think those would have been more deserving than the depiction of an event no one will remember 50 years from now.

Doesn't matter where you got it from. It's the credit that counts. By the way, if the artist is still alive, in possession of the rights to this picture and reachable through e-mail you should've asked for permission, otherwise you're comitting copyright infringement. You barely changed anything in it to make it your own creation.

At least give credit to the original artist.

Mine was one of the first middle fingers in this contest (as far as I know, at least). I saw a lot of people seemed to have gotten the same idea later on. :/
