Steam. See link at bottom.
It should already be doing what you describe. After 60 seconds of no wave progress it should kill off all enemy units.
I started a small ingame editor for just stuff we need a while ago:
We might expand it later with more options.
We plan on adding support for workshop, but it won't be at release (or we need to delay it even further).
The DOTA 2 alpha workshop map editor uses a different map format, so I d oubt it's possible. But if they do make a proper Source 2 SDK port, we will likely move over for many reasons.
You only need Alien Swarm for the current released version. For the upcoming Steam you will need nothing at all.
We are working on finishing the Steam release version, which is why it is taking a bit more time to come up with the next release.
Does it just crashes, or does it show an error message?
There's also a file "debug.log" in the lambdawars folder. Can you pastebin that?
Make sure to do a clean install (remove all old files and then install the new version).
The main reason it's like this is because the Navigation Mesh has square sized navigation areas aligned to the world grid (https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Navigation_Meshes). Placed buildings would break these areas in a weird way. Unless we replace it, I don't think it's acceptable or worth it to have large rotable buildings.
Try adding one of the following commands to your launch parameters:
-disabledeferred
-disablecef (the main menu won't be shown in this case, but it's interesting to see if it loads without error)
There's an article about it on Steam Support KB: Support.steampowered.com
Note however your system is below the minimum requirements for Alien Swarm (and the requirements for Lambda Wars will be a bit higher too).
Can you give the exact error? Seems unlikely that's the message. Please also verify you can actually start Alien Swarm.
1. This sounds like a bug.
2. Currently 2.3.5 has a bug which causes the Rebel CPU player to place too many barracks. The Rebel CPU also doesn't collect scrap yet, due which it does not place higher tier units. I hope to add this soon.
Can you provide some more information, like the video card you use and the settings you play on?
Make sure the file "sourcemods/lambdawars/gameinfo.txt" exists. If not, you likely created a sub folder structure like "sourcemods/lambdawars/lambdawars/gameinfo.txt". In that case, move the sub folder one folder up and restart Steam again.
In Sandbox mode you can control units, but it's more of an extra.
We will experiment with vehicles, but it does not have a very high priority.
Would be lots of work though (and editing brushes/terrain is pretty much out of the question). I want to focus on things which are hard/annoying to do in Hammer.
Do you know if it also happens in Alien Swarm?
Not sure what you installed, but the mod is not available on Desura.
You are right. Last time I checked it was not possible. Changed it to HL2 Ep2.
ModDB does not allow changing the game on the mod profile.
Right now you need to own "HL2 Episode 2" on your Steam account and have Alien Swarm installed.
