Hello, i'm Sandi AKA sandedsandals, which is not my actual, real name btw. I'm a mapper, modeler, animator, artist and kind of sort of a sound designer (which is to say that i dabble into it sometimes). You will notice, however ,that i never added the adjective "skilled" or "experienced" in the previous sentence. Well, that's probably because i am not. That is all.

Strange. Have you tried to launch it with the pre 25th branch of Half Life on steam?

Thanks! Yes trojans got their name from trojan viruses. Since trojans are a virus that disguise themselves as normal programs, I thought it would be the perfect name for them. The enemies all have some kind of virus motif, either by the names or by the design.

Heck yeah! In all honesty, that mod influenced a lot of stuff for this mod. From the trojans shown here, to the destructible model physics.

Very strange indeed. I couldn't replicate the bug, I was told it has something to do with old Spirit versions, but I am not really sure. I am glad you managed to fix it somehow! The weird menu is because it uses the old WON resource files that haven't been cleaned up because I wasn't aware of it until pretty recently, so it's not due to spirit and more due to my incompetence. I will probably patch these menu bugs soon, there is still a lot more stuff that has to be fixed with the maps and such, but that would have to be a much larger patch and probably won't be anytime soon

How will the SFM cutscenes be tackled in this mod?

I just finished through playing it and It was a very pleasant experience at the beginning. The atmosphere and the aesthetic really remind me of the first alien movie and that's awesome. There is a lot of effort being shown with the textures, models, sounds and animations, but there are two major problems that I have for this mod. First is that the enemies are extremely bullet spongy. It took twelve shots to the head for me to kill one of those hazmat guys on medium. TWELVE! That's too much! I know this is a horror mod and it was probably done that way to give a sense of despair and powerlessness, but the horror is more at the beginning and it becomes more action oriented along the way when you encounter the yellow hazmat guys. I mean i'm not an expert on guns, but I believe that they should blow holes in things. Second, the levels are very maze like. I got lost very easily, very quickly and these levels are pretty huge. The majority of the time was spent wandering around looking for what i'm supposed to be doing and it wasn't very obvious what i needed to do or where i had to go, it felt more like the more I wondered around the higher the chance it was to find where I am supposed to go. I probably don't need to mention this because everyone pointed it out already, but there is no real story here. There isn't even dialog, unless 'i need to find a fuse' is dialog. When I encountered those yellow hazmat guys at first, i was thinking that it was some survivor that might help me out, until he started shooting me and I died. So i guess it puts the show, don't tell philosophy to the extreme. Other than that, it keeps you on the edge and for me personally, it made me curious to see what sorts of stuff I will find and encounter in the next levels. It has this nostalgic early 2000s sci-fi feel to me that i adore. I's clear that Kruks strengths for this mod are art direction, concept arts, designs and atmosphere. I really look forward to seeing what he will do in the future because some of the stuff here look pretty much professionally made. It would be cool if in the future there is some kind of opposing force or blue shift style expansion for the mod, or maybe even a sequel. I really wish to delve deeper into this world of his

Yeah, I plan on making it closer to the concept art in the future sooner or later. The legs are the biggest problem because it would require animation and modeling work to make it look more faithful, but there wasn't a lot of time to do so because the model was made a week before the demo release, so it was kind of rushed

I can see the resemblance, but I didn't use it as inspiration, it's just a coincidence. The design was inspired more by the crab from Code lyoko to be more specific

Hey, thanks for the question! The inspiration for the mod was taken from all sorts of different places and yes, anime was one of the inspirations for it. I don't watch anime all that much these days because it became stale and bland for me over the years. Most of the stuff that feels inspired is something that I was interested at the time when I was developing it, for example Left 4 dead or Chainsaw man and stuff like that. For the story and presentation I was inspired more by stuff like the Terminator or the Matrix, stuff like that.

Thanks! I wanted to make it so the boss can be defeated in multiple ways, so yes you can drop those pipes on top of it and crush it, but if it didn't work or it missed, then there are other ways you can use the surroundings to defeat the boss in spite of that

Really nice! I feel like it would be cool if there are kind of "meet the team" trailers for the main agents, just to get to know them better I guess

Thanks! The little security house has been through many texture changes and I was struggling to pick the best one for it. I will consider the pavement looking one, but I'm not sure right now. I like that perspective play with the satellite dish in the background, I will definitely add that one

There will be one weapon from the original arsenal per level. The first level will be with a crowbar, the second with the pistol and so on

That's a good idea, i have some models that I can litter the place with. I think maybe the place can be lighten up a bit too, it's kind of dark.

Thanks! I wanted to do this segment for a few months now, probably even longer, but was unable to at the time. Since I figured out how to do it, it was probably made in a week or so. The bridge itself is a brush that was made into a model, but I ran into A LOT of problems when i wanted to compile the model. The animation file was huge, and i needed to make the bridge into two models just for it to work.

Well, I kind of already did that. I uploaded a video showcasing the animations I have done for extended. If you mean regular uploads of it showcasing new things, then yeah I was thinking of doing that. It's just that I don't really have enough stuff to show right now. Probably will have in a month or two
