L-3 Defense Fleet image - samurairyu

This is something I've made in 3ds max to go with the graphic novel.

The L-3 defense fleet with the Deucalion(named for the figure from the Roman text Metamorphosis) at its core moving to defend against forces sent by the Earth government.

Without going into too many details, the Earth government exerts its control over the various colony groups built primarily by corporations as platforms for exploiting natural resources from the asteroid belt and such. The Earth gov, while demanding taxes from the colonies, doesn't provide security forces to protect them from pirate and other criminal activity. Since they have to produce their own craft and the gov is more concerned with affairs on Earth(along with issues of repression and such), the colony group at L-3 decides they've had enough and declare independence. This does catch the attention of the Earth gov and they come down hard, destroying all who resist(most flee to Mars orbit) and rewarding their soldiers with properties in the newly conquered colonies establishing a loyal aristocracy and moving residents from overcrowded regions to form a working class(with slightly better conditions and thus also loyal to the gov).

Tensions flare up again when the force sent to pursue the fugitives encounters resistance from the corporate ships that protect Martian space. The battle is inconclusive and the damaged Earth ships limp back home for repairs. This leads to a large scale war.

The storyline continues on(for a couple hundred years) and focuses on the lives(triumphs and pains) of the characters involved but details will have to wait for the graphic novel.

There is also sufficient material for non-personal games such as mmorpg's and Battlefront-style random soldier games.
