Perhaps include this as part of the package or add a link next to the download. I got the same on Win7x64SP2 and I have the latest DirectXs.

Works fine on Win7x64SP1. Looks good, but pulling it off with grayscale will need more animations, variety, etc. Also, I would make the main character more likable and memorable.

Got killed by about 10 crows after failing to find the attack button and legging it. >_<'

Are you sure you are not outputting any text into the debug window at every update frame? It would run fine stand-alone that way.
