Ok, the problem is just that the demo.zip that Desura is serving is broken. Lots of asset files are empty, just like other Deusers here have noticed. The Steam demo runs just fine.

The Mac demo doesn't work for me. When I start a new game, I just get a silent black screen right after choosing a save slot. The program is still technically responsive, it'll still give the "do you want to quit" dialog. It's the same fullscreen or windowed, complex or simple graphics.

My system is a quad core i7 MBP, running 10.8.5 . I've tried with both HD3000 and Radeon 6750M graphics (using gfxCardStatus to force the Intel card).

Annnd we're off to the races! Linux and Mac versions are up.

You linux guys get a GTKesque self installer program, that (AFAICT) just extracts a folder of the goods. I tried it in a Ubuntu 12 VM, looks good.

I was going to say that there is no Mac version, but at Indiegamestand it looks like that's exactly what you get. Huh.
