What? The XR_3DA.exe? I can't do that, the problem isn't that the file comes from another computer, the problem is that the shorcut dissapears from my pc and i can't run the XR_3DA.exe because it needs a password. So sorry if I didn't understand what where you saying.

When I make a copy of the shorcut (while I'm instaling the game) so it doesn't dissapear and then run it, it gives me something like this "problem with the shorcut - windows is searching for XR_3DA.exe" and if I try to look it for myself it's asking me for a password.

So sorry for the late response, It didn't told me I had been answered, I downloaded exactly the parts 1 to 4 and the v1.4002 Big Patch then after the extraction just launch the installer saving it in program files (x86). When prompted I installed the Microsoft C++ and I press cancel to the restart later as the video informs to save time. At this point it's asking me if I want to install DirectX (I belive this is where i make a mistake) and it's asking me where to put it. The video said "I'm just going to click in the first location" so it doesn't really matter, right? My first location was admin so I put it there. OpenAL is the next thing I install, no problem there and at last Xvid, ths one went in my stalker lost alpha file also nothing happens here. at this point in the process I can see the desktop shorcut logo of stalker there, in fact I could see it all this time but once it ends and say it need to restart, it dissapear. Still restart my computer after that but it didn't work, tried to create a copy of the shorcut but when the original dissapeard the copy transform into a white corrupted file.

Hello! I have a little problem installing this. When reaching the end of the installation the desktop shortcut just disappear! I tried re installing it and happend the саме. Looking for the answer some guy said that the XR_3DA.exe in the bin folder would work too but that folder is a .rar and it needs a password to unlock.

Am I doing something wrong here? maybe I installed it wrong all this time? I followed this tutorial if you are wondering Youtube.com
