Then last you heard was probably a few years ago. Within the last few months Gaben openly admitted that they are developing Source 2, and have been developing it for quite some time.

Well they are working on Source 2...and this video gives me great hope for it.

They are volunteering to recreate a classic part of a classic game. I would not in any way consider this a waste of time.

This looks amazing, I'm not sure why people aren't flooding in to download this. Give it some time, this needs to become popular. I have no doubt that it will.
