That is because the Insurgency weapon sounds are currently part of the mod, yet this will be changed in the upcoming release.

Just unpack the archive and place the .mp2m file in your Max Payne 2 installation folder - it's as simple as that.

It's more than a year now that I wasn't working on this anymore, but I finally found the time to head back to work.
Most of the planned changes are done and I'll publish the newest version as soon as I'm done refining and testing all the changes.

The game file that this variable is used in is the globalconfig.txt, located under "data/". The current setup is essential for the intended use of bullet time and thus, can't be removed under any circumstances without drastically influencing the new bullet time effects.

I'm sorry to read that. I haven't heard or read about this issue before. I'll look back at that for the next update.

The mentioned variable is a default variable that was lined out, but it definitely works. I have yet to find out the cause for this.

Corrected the Beta V1.4 release.

The metal plate Max takes cover behind in P2C5 is now bulletproof again.
The sniper can still be shot through the container he's sitting behind.

Known problems:

When shootdodging during bullet time or reloading with bullet time effectiveness bonus, the red motion blur effect disappears.
This can be reversed by deactivating bullet time and activating it again.

I'll see what I can do to fix that in a few days.

Last update for this mod. Download contains loose, .ras and .mp2m files and thus, is compatible with most other mods.

The .ras file contains the new files and all other default files, as it's meant to replace the default .ras file. Updated installation instructions provided within the download.

Giving constructive feedback is one thing, posting unreasonable bad ratings just for nothing is just a shame and misleading. Do that again and I will prevent you from posting in and rating any of my stuff forever.

Rearranged the weapon script files.
Mona is now playable on the Dead Man Walking map "Manor Garden", as supposed to be. (I have never played this map on my current PC and thus didn't find this bug earlier)
The Desert Eagle now penetrates any kind of armor correctly (some script files were missing to make this work correctly).
All ReadMe files (within the downloads) have been further modified.
A file that was missing from the Weapons Patch has been added to all downloads.
(V1.3:) Bullet time now works as intended and got some more tweaks. Further changes have been made. Read the V1.3 download description for more information.

Please download your preferred files again. Sorry for the inconvenience.

So did I get that right, my weapon script files should be located in the MP2_Arsenal.ras weapon_inf folder?

And by the way, they worked fine at all time.

Beta V1.3 update released.

Bullet time now acts similar to the "hero time" feature in the game "Die Hard: Vendetta" or the adrenaline effect in the game "Left 4 Dead 2".
From the AI's sight, the game speed doesn't change, but the player's actions become twice as fast.
Weapons no longer have a SHOOT_SLOWMOTIONSPEED bonus. As time slows down, a weapon's RoF does, too.
From now on, shootdodge costs 4 seconds of a full bullet time session.
The "HeartbeatSoundMessage" will be resent after exactly 1 second, meaning that you can use the "HeartbeatSoundMessage" to help you count bullet time.
Bullet time slows down the game speed by 50%. Bullet time effectiveness slows down the game speed by 90% at max. The player's speed will always remain the same.
Bullet time activation and deactivation happens instantly, meaning that you can enable/disable it as fast as you can press the bullet time button (allows bullet time reload without bullet time deduction, if you can press the buttons fast enough).
For the first time in this mod, every version of the mod handles bullet time refills differently. In Nightmare versions, you can only refill it by killing enemies, just like in Max Payne. In Standard versions, a full refill takes 60 seconds (as it was in ALL versions before). In Supreme versions, bullet time is infinite and only deducts when shootdodging, but refills instantly after shootdodge is over.

It's been tested with the Steam version and the retail DVD version and works with all of them.
No you don't need the Steam version. The included installation instructions are very detailed. I'm pretty sure you'll get it to work. ; )

The Springfield M79 grenade launcher doesn't make an appearance in part 1, but you can acquire it at least two times without using cheats.

Part 2, chapter 6 (Mona): Do not kill the sniper immediately. Attract him by firing a gun without aiming at him, take cover so that he will follow you and then kill him. Watch out for the armed grenade he will drop on death. Let it explode and then pick up the grenade launcher.

Part 3, chapter 3 (Max): Near the end of the chapter, three of Vinnie's mobsters will cover you. One of them pulls out a sniper rifle as the building's main door gets kicked out. Kill him, watch out for the armed grenade and pick up the grenade launcher.
