Glad the WON version got some love
Glad the WON version got some love
Ok after an in depth test of the pack I would say it is very, very good visually. The only critques so far are the overly chunky LG and overly sized textures
Thank you, I've been searching for years for a mod ike this. Keep up the good work!
Thank you for this amazing all in one pack!
outside of the bad looking mountains in the bar concept1 screenshot (maybe scale up the textures like vanilla half life 2 did?) everything else looks extremely good, great work!
If your scope is to remaster the original half life with new lighting and assets without touching the core ai and gameplay and enchanting the flow of some maps, then I'm all in. If the scope is the opposite, like bringing everything black mesa had into half-life, then I'm uninterested
I'm getting "assert failed at xash3d\src_main\engine\client\gl_image.c:36" after the logo screen on Xash3D Engine v0.99, build 4344 (Windows 10)
I have only one little complaint, the ending dialogue is a tad too long considering the overall length of the chapter
Playing through chapter 3
So far the performance is good, stable 144 fps. Although I'm getting frequent micro stuttering and occasional stutter. Is that normal? I tipically get these performance issues on GZDoom only on enormous maps.. Is that the case?
Also trying it on vulkan but no noticeable differences
YooooOOOO!
Hope to see WON and xash support in the future
Would be nice to get a playable version of those maps. Or perhaps in a Hub section with concept maps
Just curious, is the mod now capable to run at a steady 144 fps with a decent hardware?
I really suggest you to at least take a look to the quake mapping discord server without necessarily participating. There are some evolutions which are shown only there and nowhere else. Like Makkon who recently showed that fence textures and the ability to cover seams are now possibile
I can't wait for the release of my favourite Wolfenstein game BoA!
Your articles are very well made simonoc!
Yes unfortunately
The way they do it nowdays is to make a discord server of the mod, then purpose the mod to influencers and sometimes the authors chat on stream, then the discord and moddb numbers go big, and after is about teasing with screenshots and talk about the upcoming versions, no matter how long it will take
A perfect example is the stalker Anomaly mod, they did a huge release the year before, then very few little updates during the year... But oh boy "when the v1.6 comes out is gonna be big!", and everybody gets hooked and watch and hope
I know that Draqu loves your mod and Civvie11 didn't review your mod yet, also did you do an interview with the quake cast or in the keep podcast? I'm very curious on how your mod came into being
Yes I'm very glad to hear that you agree!
You could do a thread on moddb, or celephais
There's also the quake mapping discord server where I'm sure you will find the authors of the maps, and also get the top 10 from testers and mappers
If you're interested I made a map/episode list with everything in quaddicted that uses your mod, because I've noticed that not all maps are named with the ad_* prefix
About the start maps, would adding another hub to your 3 would be too confusing for new players? Because imo there's some ad jam hubs that are nearly as beautiful as yours
@simomoc will you consider in the future to conglomerate all the best AD maps and hubs made separately into your mod? like oxyblack, candles, some jam maps and hubs ect?
So to be the main hub to everything related to your mod
It's watcher list + the modding activity persistence for the game. For example at least one mod from HL-HL2, STALKER and DOOM will get a top 10 position just for the fact that these games modding community are crazy active
Your mod is definitely top 10 imo, but not a lot of people even know it exists something like that, after years of people insisting to make only hd models and textures for Quake :/
It needs the push of some yt/twitch influencer i think
The log gives me this error:
unhandled exception: 76FD63AA at address C0000005
Thanks for the replay
I didn't know that because the steam version seems to be fps unlocked
About the crashes, i have win 10, is this a possible incompatibility?
Does Xash support refresh rates higter than ~70?
I installed the source port correctly, at first it worked, then it started not responding, with or without modified config file (i just tried 144 max fps and gl texture_nearest)
Is the SOC music included in the Anomaly mod? If not could you add also all the original ambient from SOC?
