Hi everyone! I am currently as aspiring game developer that eventually wants a plethora of finely crafted, repeatedly enjoyable and poignant emotional game experiences of spanning genres. I am primarily a designer creating artwork in the "pixel art" or retro styles, and also a writer. I can create shells of musical tracks also with multiple intruments, and I'm experienced at editing and graphic design on sony vegas. I also have experience of modding in the doom engine. Currently I have my finger in many pies trying to build up my portfolio, and my experience, working on games for other devs, but I really want a dedicated, friendly and intelligent team of guys that will stick around to work with, primarily at least one programmer. : ) : P So thanks and good luck to you all, if anything interests or wonders you get in touch on here or on skype! Look forward to talking! And I'll try to get some stuff up here soon. : ) x Also, my name is Raziel -.

What is "Project H"?

RedPyramidGames Blog

I should probably give some details about the aforementioned psuedonym, Project H.
"Project H" is a classic styled shooter in the vain of Doom et al, think Fantasy theme, much like Doom's spiritual successor Heretic.

This game will be much like Heretic, in the setting, the visuals, the gameplay. It will however differ in CD quality music, not synth-produced music. The gameplay will be linear, albeit with optional paths. In this game you can utilise melee weapons, and magic, to defeat your foes, of which there are numerous types.

Progress is good, and this project WILL be seen through to the end, I am working alone, doing everything myself, so far.

Stay tuned! : ))

Project H Progress!! (2)

RedPyramidGames Blog

I now have exciting news about my project! I now have one WEAPON and one ENEMY working in the game!!.. : D So good progress is being made on getting a fully playable demo made.. : ) This is great news, video soon!.. : D

Annoyance..

RedPyramidGames Blog

GG game developers for releasing (cough selling) your games on steam only, and limiting who can play them, and stopping a lot of people from playing them.. You must be really passionate there..

Project H Progress!

RedPyramidGames Blog

Work on Project H is going well! I now pretty much have the first weapon finished and working. Work can now continue on enemies and a few textures in order to get a working demo of the game up.. recording is being dodgy, otherwise I would post a video..

Absence

RedPyramidGames Blog

Sorry for being away for a while! While indiedb didn't actually catch my attention for a while, I've actually been working on "Project H", which will eventually be a TC mod for Heretic. TC - Total Conversion, changing every asset in the game.) And Heretic is a game that uses the Doom engine to become a fantasy FPS sorta thing. (Check it out! It's cool game! As with it's successor, Hexen. Quite different to Doom..) I am eventually aiming for this to be a commercial game, which didn't used to be possible due to some bits of code that are not Open Source, but due to the new release Engine GLOOME, (check the zdoom forums..), which has ALL open source software as a base. : ) commercial games are now possible using the Doom engine, namely, GZDoom. So yeh, I will be posting teasers and bits and bobs of this project as it goes along.. : ) Stay tuned.

My Stance on Steam

RedPyramidGames Blog

Just to let you know, seen as I'm sick of seeing "Steam" "Steam" "Steam Greenlight" Steam Greenlight" everywhere.. My games will never be on steam. Steam is a cancer that needs to be put down. : )
Steam is a money laundering scheme, promoting consumerism over quality, releasing countless unfinished and joke projects, over the horrible greenlight sytem, fit only for 12 year old kids, or just plain shit, with it's excessive, unwarranted, and clearly biased advertising. and killing the games industry with it's exclusivity clauses. If you wanna be a respectful developer don't sell your soul on steam as soon as you have your game finished like an idiot. It's people like you that for some reason have made Steam the monopolistic entity it is now. And we all know what happens when a company has a monopoly.. It's already been happening for ages.

Collaboration

RedPyramidGames Blog

Soo.. Still looking for a programmer.. To make games with for Red Pyramid Games. : P With me as artist, writer, whatever. : P I have a lot of projects already that need completing, ranging in scope and genre. It's so hard to find people on a variety of factors, although the "market" looks lucrative, it's like sifting through so much and so much stress just to find someone you MIGHT get on with and who has the necessary skills. I'm also looking to join projects of other people's preferrably small to medium relaxed, under their banner whatever, it doesn't matter. I'm trying to build up experience but more so something to actually show that I've done. : P I'm also looking to just be a writer for anything, I know I'm good at writing (good in some regards and bad, no, let's say "unproved" in others) but I have nothing to show for that. : P

RPGMaker..

RedPyramidGames Blog

So, messing around in RPGMaker, realising what a collosal task it is to even make ANY game. It would really do to have mulitple people working on different parts of it. The software also shows itself up to be pretty limited in some regards, as far as layering and lack of vanilla assets goes. The layering I think is fixable, but is a pain. Why do I have to tell the engine that fenceposts should be below buildings? And why do I have to add all the resources to the lists when they should be there already? .. Might have to look up loads of tutorials. Because, my character is not even showing up right now..

RPGMaker Sale!

RedPyramidGames Blog

RPGMaker are now having an 80% off sale at the moment! I'm not sure how long it will last, but I used it a day or two later than the announcement for this great software. Picked it up for around ten pounds! Bargain. It's worth checking out if you haven't already, and you could even use it to see what the newest version would be like, which is still full price. I'm currently trying to get my head round it, while it is MAJORLY accessible, and a lot of things are there already for you, it's not entirely simple as they make it out to be, and requires a lot of learning and getting round problems. I do know however that is has the potential to be great software. It does however require a lot of work if you want a game that is wholly "yours".
