Weekly Dev Log #2 - Everlasting: Text Based Adventure

RebelGameDev Blog

This week didn't have much in store for it, though I am excited to say that I will be creating animated trailers for the game (Not in ASCII for the trailers), the first one might be a bit silly, but I think it will turn out well and will cast a line out to the audience I want for this game. Also, I have been working on the story a lot more than I originally planned, I'm starting to feel good about this game. Thanks for reading this quick update!

Weekly Dev Log #1 - Everlasting: Text Based Adventure

RebelGameDev Blog

This is the first week of development for the game "Everlasting: A Text Based Adventure"! For the first week, I'm actually keeping up with working on the game rather well, saying I'm working completely alone at the moment. While I can't get anybody to help me with programming, I could try to get somebody to help me with other elements of the game.

Feelings about the game thus far:

In the first week of development, I've realized that I didn't quite know where I was going with this game, so I decided that instead of working on this whole game alone I will try to find somebody else that can help me create an actual story. This is the first full length game that I have ever started developing, and I have confidence that I can finish this.

Actual game news:

So far, I've created a stable fight demo, including several statistics that work into how you play the game, like traits that change as you interact with the game, that impact later on decisions and game-play. A save feature has been added, after realizing that people wouldn't want to have to keep the game open the whole time they play, having to restart when it closes.

I have started working a lot more on character development and designs, trying to figure out who goes where and what happens when. I have high hopes for this game, and it would be my dream to see this go somewhere bigger than "Early Access".
