You have to add -game hl2ss not to the name of the shortcut, but to its properties.

INSTALLATION:

1. Unzip the archive wherever you want.

2. Create a shortcut to hl2.exe

3. In the shortcut properties, after the file path name, write: -game hl2ss

It doesn't matter where to unzip the mod, but it's better not to unzip it into Steam folders. Better create a new folder somewhere and unzip the archive there.

Unzip the archive to the sourcemods folder (a folder in the Steam folder) and RESTART Steam.
Then find the game in the library and you can play.
Also you need to install Source SDK Base 2013 Singleplayer. (This is required. Source can be installed via Steam.)
