Sorry, this is multi-player only. Crysis AI has a major meltdown when it tries to pilot a mech.

Set your anti-virus to ignore the Crysis install folder as well as the My Documnts\My Games\Crysis folder. This is a common issue with Crysis on Win7 (I had it too), your anti-virus program interferes with Crysis making changes to config and log files, and it just dies. Setting those folders as exceptions should get you up and running.
What derp "meant" to say is... it's MULTIPLAYER ONLY. No single player.
Check the forums for support. Most likely it's your Antivirus. For some reason Crysis hates most AV programs in Windows 7. You have to make your AV program ignore the Crysis install folder and the "My Documents\My Games\Crysis" folder.
Sorry to say, but actual blue-screen crashes with Crysis are usually hardware related. Memory or graphics card are the first suspects if replacing your video drivers doesn't fix it.
Try disabling your Anti-Virus, then run Crysis. On many Win7 64-bit installs, users have found marking the Crysis install folder and the "my games\crysis" folder as exceptions or "ignored folders" to their anti-virus has solved the load-crash and change-settings-crash.
Well my anti-virus hasn't affected anything else on my system either, but it DOES affect Crysis.
Also try disabling your Anti-virus temporarily. On Windows 7 64-bit especially, Crysis fights with some AV programs. Once I added My Games\Crysis and the Crysis install folder to list of exceptions to my anti-virus, it loads fine. There are still in-game crashes (beta), but the "I can't load the game" issue is usually related to your AV software.
56er, slight reality check. Modern Warfare 2 showed a gameplay video that looks done, but you don' get to play it 'till November. God of War 3 showed a gameplay video that looks done, but you don't get to play THAT 'till next year. Preview videos are usually cherry-picked from available content to show what the end product should/could be, it doesn't mean that the whole product is ready to play. We are in no way slowing down or slacking off, but we're not going to release the beta until it is a full representation of our intended product, else the "beta" phase would be useless because nobody would really know the difference between a gameplay bug or a feature.
Still looks better than anything Sega has done with the franchise in the past decade.
xXDestroyerGRXx, just Crysis (and the latest patches)
hundeswehr, I take it you're not a long-time follower of the BattleTech lore. Elementals (capital E) are genetically enhanced warriors (read: 8-ft-tall+ 'roid freaks) that run around in beastly battle armor carrying weapons that free-born filth (read: us) couldn't lift with both hands and a back brace. That's just the way battle armor looks, and is instantly recognizable to the fans of the franchise.
