Well...you do. We mount the GCF files from CSS to use some of their additional content.

I don't appreciate the comment; I'm no longer an active BM dev.

Doom 3 still utilizes BSP although with modified code. BSP algorithms are actually still used in a lot of level design environments, just in various formats. Doom 3's netcode relies on per-pixel hit detection which is why it limits its multiplayer games to absurdly low amounts (4 players anyone?) and larger scale games (Quake 4) lag when many players are participating. I haven't worked with the D3 sound engine but I'm sure its very similar.

scripting and storytelling through cutscenes can look good in Source, but it wasn't designed to implement it, no, as the player is intended to view it through their own eyes and not out-of-body through cutscenes, which I think adds to the realism and experience of the game. In either case, cross-engine modding wouldn't go over too well with VALVe I'd guess and we're not changing the engine, so let's stop discussing it.

Aye, our comments page is being spammed again =/ - I'd delete it all but I'm on a slow connection on vacation. Cheers!

Cheers for deleting all of that spam on the profile. I kept deleting stuff for 10 mins or so, but he was posting more, and faster as well!

Many of our moderators concern themselves with moderating the forum and are not development team members. The rest are development team members.

Yeah, please. This is ridiculous. We'll have a release in due time. Just be patient, for ****'s sake. We're under no obligation to you to provide media, and yes, we do live actual lives. A number of our team are employed (yes, we have real-world jobs) and like to do things other than (gasp) work on the mod all the time!

Um, no. Just no. You guys really are embarassing yourselves :P

Have you ever worked on a mod project before? You can't just take shots when things aren't ready and claim it's final media. That would hurt our fanbase and reputation. We're renowned within the community for high quality, not half-assed attempts or unfinished product. There is much more work behind the scenes before we even get to watermark and press release stage. It's unfortunate that you don't see that we're trying to come across as a high-quality mod of which the team actually cares about their work not to release shots until it looks good and is ready. Other mods might rush just to get attention and followers but look at their work - It's generally half-assed and could be much better.

Just because we dont update (especially here) often, if you'd come over to our forum and examine the public developer threads and if you had access to the private forums you'd see that there's indeed a lot of work going on.

Kal isn't even in charge anymore. Additionally we don't need to prove to anyone anything. We're not obligated to do so as such.

Well, I wouldn't mind it =/ - Although we're not doing it for profit, a little cash never hurt anyone! :P

We don't have an official donations system though and we wouldn't accept cash until that was organized.

Terminal: Have you ever lead a mod before? Have you ever managed media releases on a project this big? Try doing it and you'll find out it's much more difficult than it appears. Look, I thought it was a piece of cake when I joined on as well. Yeah, after I did a couple of releases its a lot more work than it sounds like. We could just upload some screenshots without watermarks and announcements and some people would find them but then we risk people stealing our content and work, which we don't want to deal with (similar issues have already happened in the past.)

You can call us a fanboy mod, or whatever you want, that's cool. If you take a look at the content we're producing, though, (not to be arrogant), but it's clear that we're more than that. We also take negative and positive criticism quite well, although I don't really see anything that qualifies as negative criticism in your previous posts, just what you would like to see and think should happen. Okay, I'll take it into mind. Maybe we'll have a code update in the next release. We'll think about it. However, as multiple developers have stated, we can get this mod out the door and delivered to everyone who wants to play it quicker if we focus more on getting work done and not just polishing stuff up for our releases then working on other things, as happened previously. This decision impacts the community a bit more, and stretches out the waiting time for media, but should make the development of the actual mod speed up.

I'm not speaking for the community around this page, either, mind you, just for the team.

Most of the stuff like that is, infact, NOT completed and ready for public release. If we show it off, then we get criticism for it looking like crap (which we know, because its not ready) and as opposed to rushing stuff to get it released, we take our time and make it look nice.
