Yo I'm Rela, I love the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series, and hardcore mods for it like MISERY and Dead Air. Also a great fan of all FromSoftware's games (especially Bloodborne) and Skyrim (heavily modded ofc). Can't wait for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2. Currently working on addons for Dead Air - one (DAOO) bringing a major overhaul to Dead Air's outfits and armors, and one other - an artefact overhaul based on my De Facto Artefacto, that will greatly expand the variety and properties of artefacts.

You have to install DAOO after the english translation (or whatever other translation you are using). That should fix the problem. I don't think there are any add-ons out there that modify the description file for outfits, but if you have any - then let DAOO overwrite them, and the issue should be gone.

Okay then! This upgrade doesn't change the appearence at all, so it will serve as a viable version of roleplaying.

Yeah, I know about those issues, but there isn't much I can do about them. The former is mostly the case on lower resolutions as you said, and happens mostly with outfits that have longer descriptions and high upgrade possibilities (Ace or Wastelander, mostly). I tried fixing it and of what I remember it was decent with most outfits on 1680x1050 resolution, with ones like Ace having the upper part of the window cut, but the only thing hidden was the name.

As for the latter - I have no idea what is causing it. I believe it was the case with and icon taken from Bulat's upgrade tree (or Berill), and I think it was carry weight and HP regen icons that were swapped in the pictures. I tried to fix that already, but gave up after I made sure I had exactly the same "coordinates" for both upgrades, so everything should be fine, but well - it isn't. Zone life, I guess

Would adding a single upgrade to it, like it was with the ACH-7 be okay or not really? I'm reffering to the one that lets you install a light gas mask at cost of some stamina regen decrease.

Sure thing! It will come with the next update, although I have no idea when it is coming as of now. But I'll be sure to add it to the to-do list!

Sorry for replying so late, I was convinced I would be receiving notifications about new comments o.0 Well, on to the solution though:

inv_weight = 8.2 additi additi
Those are lines from outfit.ltx, where all the outfit's stats are set. To be honest I am not sure what is the difference between the two values, but they both have to be the same to work properly. This is the value that is displayed in the description of the suit when you purchase it as "additional carry weight", which is set in the description as 12000 grams. Inv_weight is the base weight of the outfit.

[up_sect_secone_merc_nighthunter_outfit]
cost = 7600
inv_weight = +0.18
value = +6 additi additi
These on the other hand are lines from Nighthunter's upgrade path. The inv_weight stat here determines how much weight will be added TO THE OUTFIT itself (the weight of installed upgrade), while the two values below are exactly the same as with the base outfit - they add 6000 grams of carry weight to the suit, making it 18 kilograms in total. This value applies to your character (look at your max weight in lowest part of the inventory screen - when "naked" the max value is 20 - if you have the unupgraded Nighthunter it will jump to 32, and 38 with the upgrade). However, even after installing the upgrade, the suit's description in the inventory WILL NOT CHANGE and will still show 12000 grams. This is because all descriptions are manually set and actual stats are only displayed as the defence bars and installed upgrades in the lower part of the item window - the carryweight upgrade should be listed there, and it should say either +6 kilograms or +6000 grams.

So I think everything was alright from the start, but please let me know if I got the issue wrong. If not though, just revert all the changes you made to the way I pasted them here and all should be A-ok.
Thank you for the report, too :)

Edit: formatting weird spaces after pasting
Edit: okay, I don't know why those values cannot look normal even though I editted the comment twice, they just show me additi additi xD First two sets of additional weight say 12 and 12, and the second set from the upgrade tree says 6 and 6. Sorry for the troublesome reading :/

I was waiting for a next update for of this masterpiece for sooo long, will have to re-download MISERY soon :)
I'd love to try it in Dead Air though, that would fit perfectly there, especially with this underwhelming ammunition system that DA has.

You don't have to rename them, just copy an paste the ones from Ace straight to Nosorog. The only thing that you will have to rename is the upgrade_scheme section; change it from upgrade_scheme_nosorog_outfit to upgrade_scheme_ace _outfit (or something like that, I don't remember how exactly the sections are named). Basically you simply have to copy any upgrade related stuff from Ace to Nosorog, there is no need to rename anything.

The tutorial can be found in the main DAOO archive that you download.

Then it is much more complicated. When making my custom upgrade paths I tried to preserve the scheme of one of original upgrade paths (for example, Ace uses SEVA's upgrade path scheme), but I changed almost all upgrades that are present in it. Adding a few more upgrades to the path would require work with aligning their icons on upgrade interface, and I have no slightest idea on how to do that - I only know in which files it has to be done (all required files are listed in an armor upgrade tutorial that is included with DAOO). If you want to try it yourself then go on, but remember to backup your saves and files.

It is possible, but it would completely ruin the game balance. Check the outfit.LTX for upgrade sections, and copy the ones you want from their outfit - then paste it into the section of outfit you want to bind them to. Remember to also change the upgrade_scheme line, or the upgrade interface will be broken and unusable.

That's weird, everything should work alright if the installation was OK. Maybe try reinstalling the addon? Also, remember to overwrite any files when asked.

Order of transfer was in Jupiter plant in CoP of what I remember... psi research is probably X18, biology and rainbow emitter are X16/X19 (the ones that I found), prototype weapon and notebook are probably in X8 and Iron Forest. The military documents could be found in their base in Agroprom, but if not then I have no idea where.

You mean, make all suits more durable? I'd rather not do that, I don't really want to make the game easier, and some outfits from DAOO are already almost OP when fully upgraded. If you want you can modify it yourself though - check the outfit.LTX file, I included a guide explaining everything you need to know about modyfying the stats. Simply save the file when you're done, and changes will be applied to any existing saves (if done correctly, there is no risk of save file corruption).

I am not sure to be honest, on my own playthrough I found two sets - one in lab X16 (Yantar complex) and one in the bunker where Brainscorcher control room is located (X19). I haven't visited any other labs yet, so it is possible that there could also be one set in X18 (Dark Valley), X8 (Pripyat Outskirts) or the laboratory below Iron Forest anomaly in Zaton. I am not sure though, it would be best if someone more knowlegable in this topic gave their answer xd

Sorry for not responding for so long, but please don't spam the comment section xd You simply have to copy the entire gamedata folder and put it in Dead Air's main folder (the one where "appdata" and "database" folders are located). If you use any addons that are partially incompatible with DAOO, check the folder with compatibility patches. I also included a short tutorial on how to install the patches, it can be found in the mod's archive.

Surely nothing to do with DAOO, no gun related files were touched. I know that in Dead Air you can't put on silencers if the gun has a specific malfunction (broken muzzle brake I think, or cracked barrel). Maybe the same thing applies for scopes. Either way, I'm sure it's not related to this addon.

I looked through the trade files, everything seems to be in order. I corrected some things just in case, and the file is uploading right now. I really hope it's not another random bug, the things that are happening with this addon since v1.1ext are weird enough already :/

Thank you and good luck to you too. The weirdest thing is that everything actually works fine on my end. The only files that I edited that are related to backpacks are the artefact_degradation script which covers the durability loss, items_manager.ltx and items_attachments.ltx. No matter what I do I cannot make this bug happen in my game, amd everyrhing breaks and is possible to repair at any technician, I also checked if "delayed repairs" have any effect, but nothing changed.

To me it seems like any modification to any of those files somehow influences also the rest of items in their class. People reported that all backpacks as well as attachments (kevlar plates, titanum grids, etc) are also bugged along with backpacks - and the backpacks from original Dead Air are affected, too. In items_manager.LTX there are two sections that are important, one of them indicating which items are able to be repaired, and which are treated as "not_artefact" (I think this section is there to stop artefact_degradation script from processing those items the same way it processess artefacts; both classes are covered by the same script after all). So if everything is OK with the script, and items_attachments.ltx also has everything set, I think thay either items_attachments.ltx is somehow bugged (it or its connection to items_manager) or there is some other file that makes everything go to sh*t. But it doesn't make much sense either - if a file is not edited, original file is not overwritten and at leas original items should work fine; so the issue HAS to lay hidden in one of the altered files. But then again comes a question, why does it work in my game and no one else's?

Om the other hand, one person has confirmed that everything repair-related works for them (and they use the exact DAOO version we all are). O thought it may be a Dead Air version issue, since I'm still using 0.98a,but this person also confirmed that they are using 0.98b, so the bug cannot depend on DA version.

It deeply bothers me, I feel like everything is ok and should work, but the weirdest thing of ot all is that we all are using the same files, I copied all edited files from my Dead Air to form DAOO (no way I forgot about any of them - I always leave the files open in N++ when I finish my work to remember what I need to copy) - and still, it works for me and other people get the bug.

I will also resume my work on it tomorrow, got a friend of mine to install Dead Air, I'll see if it works on his PC and I will try to edit his files and add them to DAOO. I hope it helps, this bug is here for too long already xd

Ports to other mods are planned but only when the core of DAOO is ready, all factions are covered, bugs fixed are done and there is no need to add new stuff. No idea how long it is going to take, but ports wil be there eventually.
